"... thee're his sister, then?"

Sheila Glamorgan also had the unfortunate occurence of being flung into her lover's past. Unfortunately for Sheila, she has no idea about the place. She's never seen or even heard of it, and it was pure luck that she met someone coming by to his apartment that wasn't his girlfriend, LindaFurthermore, someone who ( Read more... )

SOMERSET MALL
Troy, Michigan
[The Best Shopping in Oakland County]

The sign outside the mall, once Shelley leads Raven and Sheila out of the car (it was a short ride, and likely very silent) is very straightforward.

It's in Troy, Michigan, which is the place where you get the best shopping in Oakland County.

Sheila, who cannot read the sign, is squinting at it.

"Never mind what it says," Shelley grins. "'S get some clothes, or food, or something. There's a Mrs Fields nearby, if you guys like fresh cookies?"

Raven fairly glows.

"I like cookies."

"Who is Mrs --"

"I had a feeling you'd ask that," Shelley interrupts Sheila. "She's nobody. Not a real person. 'S the name of the store, kinda like, I dunno, Hudson's, or S-Mart. C'mon."

Three minutes or so later, they have fresh-baked cookies.

Sheila's grinning, because Raven likes cookies, and she dragged him here, after all.

For several moments, Raven is rather content to be eating cookies. Inhaling is probably closer to the mark.

After he has devoured several, maybe half-a-dozen, the shaking in his hands stops. It's a good thing.

"I am content. Is there aught else to do here? Not everyone enjoys cookies, you see."

Sheila's giggling to herself, still, and eyeing her midriff carefully - near the time when they start to move, almost - when Raven speaks, and she winks at him.

Shelley, though, has Plans.

"Oh yeah. Goin' clothes shopping for this bird here." Pause. "Er. I mean Sheila. Slang for girl, not like ... um. Yeah."

Can tell she's related to Ash now, right?

"But y'want a pop or anything before we go? Ate a lot."

Raven grins, eyes dancing wickedly.

"I can be a girl, if you like. It will make the term doubly descriptive."

Yes, now Sheila is really laughing. Quite audibly.

"If thee did, all eyes'd be on us," she giggles, "and mayhap in this world thee'd not want to attract such glances."

Raven tilts his head, grinning.

"You overestimate humanity's ability to explain things away, perhaps. But I will take your advice."

He pauses, a moment.

"We can go, as you like. I am not thirsty."

"Everyone'd just think everyone else was tripping," says Shelley helpfully.

"Now, let's see."

And thus Inspiration strikes - and they're off to Filene's Basement, where Shelley's first act is to put a hat with a large black plume on Raven's head, making Sheila laugh.

"Said y'were a Raven. Think it fits."

Raven grins.

"I like it, certainly. But Coyote often says I have no taste, so."

He shrugs, admiring himself in a mirror.

Shelley is having inordinate degrees of fun, and claps all the more when Sheila, laughing, comes up with a strange array of sweaters, spinning around in a dress that's a size too big.

"Twirls nicely," she grins, "and when th'baby's grown more, will suit me nicely. I do have some funds, if thee'd like to keep thy hat, Raven."

Raven grins.

"It is not necessary, I do not think. Though I appreciate the offer."

He eyes the dress critically.

"It is pretty."

"Ought I keep it, pray?" Sheila spins again, grinning.

Shelley's gotten her other things too. She thinks her brother's girlfriend really needs to be as stylish as ... well, as her brother's current girlfriend. Ow.

Raven considers.

"I certainly think so. I like the sweaters, too. They are colorful."

She holds a pink sweater up to her chest, looking thoughtful.

"Lilly's colour," she muses. "Mayhap I should get her one as well."

Raven laughs.

"She would like it, I think. Though perhaps one that is more interestingly colored? I could help with that, I think."
