"... thee're his sister, then?"
Sheila Glamorgan also had the unfortunate occurence of being flung into her lover's past. Unfortunately for Sheila, she has no idea about the place. She's never seen or even heard of it, and it was pure luck that she met someone coming by to his apartment that wasn't his girlfriend, LindaFurthermore, someone who

Moments later, the air maybe ten paces away begins to stir, as if in the middle of a heat haze.
Seconds later, a tall skinny man in a black coat and dusty jeans strides through. Behind him, one can see a lake, and the faintest suggestion of a forest.
His hair is slightly damp, as if he has been sweating, and his hand shakes, a little.
"You called, I think. It was hard to hear."
Reply
"Who -- what -- how -- oh shit what is going on--"
Sheila just laughs.
"Raven, this is Shelley."
Reply
"It is good to see you well, I think."
He blinks, then turns, tilting his head to study Shelley.
"You are related to Ash, perhaps. It is interesting."

This happens far, far too much to Sheila, and she curls her arms around Raven's neck, clinging a moment.
"Thee did hear me, it is good. I never dreamed."
Shelley, dazed, just nods. Slowly.
Reply
He hugs Sheila tightly.
"I will always hear. It is a thing I am good for."
He blinks at Shelley.
"You are confused, perhaps? I had not expected such a thing, I do not think. This is your place, yes?"
Reply
"Then she comes walkin' in my door. I'm like - shit, okay, weird. But weird stuff happens to my family a lot. My brother is a weird magnet. And then she mentions a friend of hers, and then he just appears in here? Without a door? From a lake which is in my apartment, and ... Yeah, I'm confused."
Reply
"It is simple. She called, and I came. I could close the portal, if you like. If it makes your brain swim. It takes humans that way, sometimes."
Humans like absolutes in terms of space. It is a thing Raven does not understand.

Sheila's still clinging a little, however.
"And I ... I could not find, as it were, a way back. Tried many doors. Shelley suggested ... traveling."
"To the Somerset Mall," contributes Shelley. "Hottest shopping in Oakland."
Reply
"You would like to go shopping, perhaps?"
He can open a door from anywhere, after all. What's one more place? And time to rest is always good.
Reply
"I ... never really have been such a place," she says, cautiously. "If thee'd be willing, Raven. I'd not have thee leave."
Reply
"I am almost always willing to see new places. It is a thing."

Shelley (who is definitely Ash's sister) grabs her jacket and slings it about her shoulders, laughing.
"Figure you two aren't gonna volunteer to drive, so I will. I'd take Ash's Olds, but--" She stops as Sheila looks vaguely ill, shrugs, and continues, "-- well, my car's kinda crap, but we'll take it anyway, if that's cool."
Reply
"I am adaptable. It is a thing I am known for."
This is an understatement, really.
He looks to Sheila.
"It is well for you, also?"
Reply
"Adaptable thou art," she says, laughing. "And ... yes. Provided ... provided we do not take Ashley's car."
At the sound of her brother's full name, Shelley laughs, and leads them outside.
