And this is how the Nook ball is dropped

Nov 30, 2009 12:39

Sitting here in Barnes and Noble I learned something; don’t expect something to be there when a company says it will be.

The Nook was supposed to be in store to demo today. The kiosks are set up and look nice. But Barnes and Noble is dropping the ball big time. Obviously they didn’t expect the popularity of the nook to take off which is silly since you would expect a company to be a bit optimistic about their product.

But alas Barnes and Noble is so behind the ball that they are cannibalizing their in store stock to fulfill online orders. And they seemed to have not sent out demo units to all their stores. Which is a shame. I was ready to demo one and then order one online and wait for the shipping no matter the time.

Now because of Barnes and Noble I will delay my purchase. I wonde how many sales they are losing out on because of this.

This store expects demo units in the next couple of weeks. I wonder if any other stores are missing units.
