Canon Format: Manga and anime (I will just be using the manga as basis for the character.)
Character's Name: Sunako Nakahara
Character's Age: 15
What form will your character's NV take? A gothic-style amulet like this. However, it will open like a locket, with a small screen and keypad inside.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Sunako is an able fighter. In several situations where she might have been expected to fulfill the role of damsel in distress, she instead kicks ass right alongside the series' resident bad boy Kyohei. She will not be able to fight the mutants in the Darkness, but the average street punk or mugger had best find another target.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? There have been times in the series when Sunako has been possessed by the spirits of others. It is generally used as a plot contrivance and not properly explained, but in Siren's Port, I would like to develop this ability to the point that Sunako actually becomes a medium.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: The Wikipedia entry on The Wallflower gives a general overview of the plot. Not much is stated about Sunako's history before the start of the series. She is a high school student sent to live with her aunt while her parents travel. However, this aunt is concerned that her niece is not growing up to be a properly refined and delicate woman (perhaps for good reason, if you view her first appearance here). Her aunt offers four bishounen classmates free rent if they will turn Sunako into a proper lady during her time in high school. Thus begin a series of adventures that include everything from competing in athletic events at the school field day to combating the advances of a real vampire. The guys try to make Sunako more ladylike at every turn, generally with mixed to disastrous results. (Some important aspects of Sunako's history are deeply tied into her personality and are touched on more in that section of the application.)
Point in Canon: Current canon (or at least as far as I've read, through scanlated chapter 98)
Character Personality: Sunako has dark interests. She wears dark clothing and stays in her room with the lights off whenever possible. She wears her hair long so she can hide behind it. She loves slasher films and horror movies. Some of her "best friends" are anatomical models like a "visible man" figure and a skull. She gets excited by talk of ghosts and otherworldly creatures, and her face lights up with an unholy glee in the face of dangerous weapons and instruments of torture.
Rather than confront her problems, Sunako tends to retreat. When she was in middle school, she was rejected by a crush who said that he wasn't interested in ugly girls. It was at this point that she turned inward and cultivated her darker interests. She calls attractive people "Creatures of the Light" and is overwhelmed by their beauty, often experiencing spontaneous nosebleeds.
When called into action, she is surprisingly skilled at domestic chores, especially cooking, and she shows a caring nature in taking care of these chores for the guys living in her house.
Throughout the course of the series, she has started to come out of her shell more and more, thanks to the influence of her roommates. She is more open to interacting with others. However, she is still far from the lady her aunt hopes her to become.
Character Plans: Sunako will embrace the Darkness, excited by the prospect of a city full of strange and dangerous creatures. She will likely take a morbid interest in the Newcomer Murders.

Third Person Sample
Why were there so many people walking around today? Why was it so hot outside? (Someone observing her might have commented that her long-sleeved t-shirt and baggy jeans didn't help the heat issue.) Sunako kept her eyes on the sidewalk, avoiding eye contact with passersby. She was on a mission. There was no turning back.
Wait? Who was that? He looked like a Creature of the Light! She darted into the nearest alleyway, her heart pounding. She counted to 60 and peeked around the corner. The coast was clear.
After what seemed like hours, she finally found the address in the advertisement. She stepped off of the busy, sunny street into a quiet, soothing darkness. There were dark tapestries on the walls, with flickering candles providing most of the light. She ran her hand across a display of incense burners. Her eyes went from one treasure to the next: a fetal pig in a formaldehyde jar, a book of spells, a tarot deck.
When a sales clerk finally approached and asked if she needed help with anything, it was a different girl who turned around. This wasn't the timid creature who had skulked in the shadows and kept her head down. Sunako looked the employee in the eye and answered, "There was a classified ad about a skeleton…" The smile on her face was one of unnatural glee.
