I am flailing! Just flailing! If it weren't so insufferably hot (I was assured it never got this hot on the California coastline -- scandalous lies, apparently) I'd be literally flailing around the room and scaring the cat. As it is, my mind is a lovely jumble. My happiness: let me show you it...
To begin,
Atlantis Big Bang finally went live, yesterday. There was a technical delay, but as I was out of town with my Saturday already spoken for, that didn't bother me. Then I was in airports for most of Sunday and was only able to get brief glimpses of the comm on my phone. My story (
The Bearskin Cloak, if you'd like to check it out) is up, which was pleasing. But! But!
The art! The artwork inspired by my story was also up and even the tiny, little phone image was flail-inducing. To see it on my computer screen? More awesome than I can say. :D You all have to go check it out.
neevebrody's is
here, and
trishkafibble's is
here. Seriously, as much as I'd love everyone to read my story (and hold it, sighing, to your bosom), I really do urge you to go look at the art. I am so beyond pleased, and kind of honored that both pieces were inspired by something I've done.
To add to my already overflowing joy (I read Jane Austin during the flights...can you tell?) my sister scored a cheap flight out here and was visiting with my dad over the weekend. I missed most of it, but due to completely misreading my flight time, was surprised with extra visiting time yesterday. We took my little niece to the park and got to hear all about their trip to the zoo and help her scramble all over a playground shark. Even with the heat, it was a good time.
And now I breath. (And also sweat but, with the sun beginning to go down, mostly breath.)
(okay -- my "hot" mood pic has obviously run with a different definition, but honestly it's the best word I have so I'm sticking with it. Avert your eyes! Or, you know. Don't.)
