Or back in L.A--

As if!

Here I go, anyway:

Number one I swear to keep on trying
To get back home and see him dying--
I mean lying--
Lying in defeat!

I did not know you were musical, Dr. Horrible! Really, you have a most charming voice.

And flowers, hmm? Has some fair maid captured your attention?

I do that sometimes. Break out into song. I don't mean to, and to me it just seems like I'm talking. But, um, thanks for the compliment.

What? No! I...that is...I just need to get flowers for...someone for...a reason that has nothing to do with romance. Nothing at all!

One should always give credit where it is due.

Come now, Dr. Horrible, there's no need to be shy. I'm sure the lady would be most flattered.

Do you think so? I mean, purely hypothetically, would you be happy to receive flowers from someone who liked you?

Are there any particular flowers you like that are nice for that sort of thing? I'm...not very good at this kind of thing.

Well, that depends entirely on what you want to say to the lady. There is an entire language of flowers.

If you like, I would be more than happy to accompany you to a florist and help you decide on an arrangement.

There's a language of flowers? I should probably study that.

No, that would kind of defeat the purpose won't be necessary. I'm sure I can come up with something.

Indeed, it is most useful for expressing feelings that cannot be put to works. I have a floral dictionary I can lend you.

And come come, such matters could always use a woman's touch! Especially if you are not accustomed to such gestures.

Thanks. I'll study it carefully, I promise.

No, really. Though that's a good point...I'll keep it in mind.
