NOPE!

I thought the dead don't eat, but I've been wrong~

Oh, I'm--you know, I'm sorry to hear that you're dead. But the eating thing is doable. I'm dead too and I don't have to eat, but it doesn't hurt anything.

We haven't met before, have we?

It's okay, I'm not sorry --especially since I can still eat! Ohoho~

Of all the places to be dead, I think this must be the best. Not that I've been a whole lot of other places...

It's great to meet you, Su--no, wait. Do you go by your last name? Anyway, I'm Penny.

Nice to meet you, Penny. You can call me Hokuto.

I thought this would feel more different.

Hokuto! Thank you!

It's really strange, isn't it? Except for not having to do normal things, it's just like being alive. Oh, and it's handy for winter because you won't get cold too easily. Always good for when the snowball fights start.

Doesn't it make you wonder why people are so afraid of moving on?

My brother. His job is to make sure the dead don't linger, but his job might be easier if they know about these parties you throw!

Sometimes it does. Sometimes, though, I kind of understand why they're afraid. It's that whole not-knowing-what's-waiting thing combined with the fear of leaving behind the people you love, I think. Not that either of those're problems here!

Well, your brother's welcome to come. What's his name?

That could be difficult to deal with, leaving behind your loved ones. It must be hard to have to leave. What about you?

My brother's still alive. His name is Subaru and he looks just like me!

What about--? Oh. Um. I didn't have a lot of people at home, so leaving wasn't too bad. And you? I hope there's no one you miss too much.

Oh, I know Subaru! I mean, I talk to him, and I know that he likes pigeons. I guess that's almost like knowing someone.

That'd--it would've been really nice, but I was always so busy at home. There wasn't a lot of time to make friends.
