I think the City reached new levels of weird yesterday.  I was--and I'm not even joking--a brain in a jar.  And I could see, which was neat, and I think I was connected to the network since I could see posts, but I never did figure out how to post myself.  I was so, so glad to have my body back at midnight.  It's a step up from having heads cut off ( Read more... )

I had an antenna in my head. I was connected up to some other people and we were doing some really groovy drumming with our minds.

I'm not really sure, but it was far out. We were kind of sharing thoughts too, but just a little bit.

That sounds weird... sharing your brain, even if it's just a little bit of it. I don't think I'd like it much.

It kind of does! I don't know how to play, though.

I wouldn't really want to do the whole hive mind thing all the time, because I was pretty much unplugged from reality, but it was cool for a day.

Probably don't have an oboe either.

Okay, but now explain how you drummed with your minds.

Well, just tapping stuff made all kinds of noises in my head. I'm sort of fuzzy on the details, though.

Watch out, when midnight strikes you'll be cursed into the greatest oboeist in all of history but you won't actually be able to find an oboe.

That's crazy. Not that you're crazy.

That would be just like the City, wouldn't it? I should find an oboe and keep it around just in case.
