Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

I hope everyone who celebrates has had a great time!  And just a quick reminder for all three of you with cars: Don't drive yourselves home if you've been partying! It's probably not a great idea to fly, teleport, or do whatever else you do if you're drunk, either. I'm all for enjoying the holiday, but not so much for ( Read more... )

[This is Rosella doing a figurative peek-out-from-under-the-covers, except via the Network.]

It reminds me of the leprechauns.

Leprechauns? Real ones?

How're you holding up, Rosella?

Mmhmm. The ones at home. They didn't come by very much, but I knew them a little.

I'm...well, managing. I've been staying with Blue.

What're they like?

Good. Blue'll take care of you. And if you ever want to do anything--talk over coffees or something--just let me know, okay?

They're quite spirited, really. The king once taught me how to jig when I was younger, back when we were both about the same height.

That does sound nice. We ought to, sometime soon.

That's adorable! ...Or maybe not 'adorable,' if that'd offend them.

This-week soon? I'm cutting back my hours at the Center a little to make time for things like sleeping, so any time works for me. Or if that's too soon, that's fine, too.

I don't think it would offend them, exactly. They're very much the playful sort, but they have a peculiar sort of dignity about them, too.

Well...I can't promise how good of company I'll be this week, but we could, certainly, if you wouldn't mind a bit of gloominess on my part.

Then I'd say it's adorable, but in a dignified way.

You don't need to be good company (although you will be, even if you don't think so). You've got every right to feel bad.

On a totally unrelated note, do you have any plans for your birthday?

It's something like that, anyway. You ought to see them dance. They're really wonderfully good at it, especially when there's a fiddle keeping the tune.

For my birthday? I don't know, exactly. I haven't planned myself a ball or anything to celebrate, certainly. I'm not nearly as skilled with it as Mother is, and it's hard to plan things at all with the curses the way they are.

Planning is kind of hard. You never know when you'll end up in someone else's body or handcuffed to a stranger or something... that definitely gets in the way. I hope you'll be able to have some fun, though.

I'm sure I will. Really, I wish I could visit Kurama's garden again and go for a walk there, but I haven't been able to find the way to it since he left. It's a shame, really.

What kind of plants did he have? Maybe there's a place in Xanadu that's at least a little similar. I saw a lot of amazing things when I was lost in there... not that I could find my way back to where I was again, but I'm sure there's a gardeny spot you'd really love.

Oh, all sorts. I never went near the ones that ate people, though, or that he said were too dangerous. But he liked roses just as much as I do, and he'd grow them there, and he said I could go and pick them from his garden whenever I wanted. And last year, he made the whole garden come into bloom all at once, when we were all tired of winter and ready for spring to come.

Wow... people-eating plants. I saw a movie about that once.

That's so neat. Do you have a favorite kind of rose?

I don't quite remember what he called them, but they had odd names. It was oji-something, I think. But in any case, it wasn't the sort of thing I'd want to run into under any circumstances.

Well, I rather like red ones best, but pink ones are rather sentimental to me, too.

If I ever find an oji-something plant that looks hungry, I'll definitely be running away. Or walking, since... plants. Unless it's a curse where the plants run around.

Red and pink. Gotcha.
