A good summary of history (if you don't want to read a hundred books on the subject):
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-the-gop-became-the-party-of-the-rich-20111109 Every now and again, I see an article from Rolling Stone that seriously impresses by summarizing a discordant reality into a coherent narrative. You know, that whole "journalism" thing.
Trickle-down economics doesn't work. Does the fact some states have 15% unemployment despite record corporate profits not prove this enough yet?
I get that people don't like to be wrong. I mean, I know, it sucks. I hate admitting when I'm wrong, too. But the right-wing is wrong on the economy, and they've been wrong for an uncomfortably long time now. Just how wrong do they have to be to not win reelection?
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't understand how informed people can still support people like Cantor. Especially not while knowing what we know now.
