Finally joined the gym today! I am looking forward to working out with K and how GOOD my body feels when I workout.
So, I have had two potential men tell me they think I am "too much for them" in the last 24 hours... jesus. Pussies. Plus a guy I dated last year (who wasn't really ready and neither was I), called for a date out of the blue... I was suprised and happy. It's been two weeks since then (he cancelled last minute because of work, supposedly)...anyways, have not heard a word from him. Why do guys do shit like this? Does it feed their ego or something?
"Am I Your Type? Are You Mine?" Well, cheesey title aside this is a book about the Enneagram and is even more profoundly astute than what I have read so far on this subject. I WISH there was a dating thing that used the Enneagram. I feel like it is the key to use, if potential couples could do that I think it would/could go a long way... Anyways, turns out I am MUCH more of a Helper personality than a Challenger. At least my dominant traits are very helper oriented.
Quoted from the book- Some things it says about me...
I go after what I want. This applies to relationships as well as other areas of my life.
I long to have a close relationship, but I know from experience that I can lose myself this way.
I like to reach out to people and often am the one to make the first overture.
I often choose inappropriate or unavailable people, as this keeps me from having to face my fears of intimacy.
I sometimes feel a deep sense of lonliness.
I like to receive approval, respect, recognition and admiration.
I have a warm and friendly personality.
I like to make a difference in peoples lives.
I usually know what other people need and what they are feeling.
Some people see me as overly emotional and dramatic.
I sometimes choose a parter I plan to improve, change or bring out.
If I don't receive cards, gifts or other signs of appreciation for being giving, devoted and self-sacrificing, I feel devasted, hurt and angry.
I like to pamper myself.
Helping my partner acheieve his or her potential is gratifying and makes me feel important.
I live to give presents more than receive them.
Wow, this book even says that I am a gracious host and that I WILL TELL OTHERS ABOUT THE ENNEAGRAM! And the kicker...my basic need being to be loved.
You can even read the descriptions and find someones type, then look at the type compatibilities----****this is KEY**** and it tells you MANY insightful things. Anyways, I have books with loads more complexity and it's fascinating, so if anyone is interested let me know.
Check it out... There is a FREE test on the site... Post your TOP 2 or 3 types. The full test is like $19 and SOOOOO worth it :). www.enneagraminstitute.com
