Yesterday was my first day of class and right away I could tell I was going to Columbia. My geology, yes geology, teacher not only played a Beatles DvD during our break but also serenaded us with a song about geology... on a guitar he built himself. Wow. Today's class was much less uneventful but it should be a decent class. There was a girl in an Atreyu shirt that sat behind me that reminded me of Cass, and of course that turned out to be her name, which made me chuckle. I managed to get home without being mugged or offered drugs (thanks for the concern anyway, Mom).
I bought headphones for my ancient CD player that my dad found a week ago. I'm not being swallowed up in the Ipod revolution... at least not until Christmas. The only thing I don't like about Ipods is that when you have all that music to choose from... all the choices seem less desirable and you have a tendency to skip around sometimes. I like committing to an album or two for the day.
I ordered a backpack online which was pretty sweet except I don't get it until Wednesday which is no big deal cuz this week is still first class week. Looking through my closet I realized winter was coming and I am ill-prepared. I browsed through some music websites and ended up purchasing a littany of hoodies and long-sleeved items for the cold winter days ahead.
I'm going to Walls of Jericho on Monday after class, and very tempted to see KMFDM in October. I'll try to make Deals and Mike Park's band on the 30th but something always comes up when I try to see DGB. Damn Everytime I Die, It Dies Today, and Life Once Lost for playing their only show around here in St. Louis. I'd like to see Bury your Dead and Most Precious Blood on the 1st but the show is 40 bucks and I havent heard any of the other 13 bands. At least MPB has that new CD coming out, I am as happy as a little giiiiirl. Hopefully Throwdown will be through soon on account of their new album.
Speaking of shows, NTG is at it again for the second time in 3 days. Class tomorrow, shopping with Megan and Dani afterwards. And of course Potbellys thrown in there somewhere. I'm feeling Italian with turkey and chicken tomorrow.
I'll turn emo before I turn vegetarian.
