Man... music and its ties to business and music videos really get to me sometimes.

I finally saw the video for Coheed and Cambria's A Favor House Atlantic. I really love the song, even though if you didn't know the band beforehand you'd swear they were pop-punk. Regardless, it's a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics in my opinion.

It was really a shame to see such a cliche, watered-down visual interpretation of the song comprising the video. Hollywood ditzes lip sync-ing the lyrics, no creative attempt whatsoever for a song thats lyrics painted some amazing images in my head. Watching that video, along with the infamous dreaded MTV-spawned BUZZWORTHY tag attached to it, really made me wonder if they wrote that song to be a hit. Which bothers me.

And MTV and VH1 have a nice little business association going on. MTV churns out terrible songs and videos, which then directly become fodder for VH1's 100 worst, 50 most awesomely bad countdowns.
