Bennet parked his car in front of the IHOP where he'd agreed to meet Peter. Despite the casual setting and intent for the evening, he was wearing a suit, because, well, that was what he wore. He'd actually be uncomfortable in anything else.
He moved purposefully across the parking lot and went through the door. A warm, bubbly hostess was waiting inside to greet him, and he answered her with one of his most friendly, harmless smiles. "I'm meeting a friend, and I'm not sure if he's here yet. Do you mind if I look around?" At her acquiescence he slipped into the restaurant proper, searching for Peter.
