He made his way slowly from his car up to Mohinder's apartment, his expression carefully neutral. He didn't know what was about to happen, only that the conversation likely wouldn't be pleasant. He had never wanted to talk about Sandra to Mohinder. He was trying to leave that behind him, since he would never have it back ( Read more... )

Mohinder opened the door in his pajamas - a pair of baby blue pj pants and a white wife beater tank top - and gave Noah a smile. "Come in, you." Once his boyfriend was inside he closed and locked the door for safety. "Thirsty? I can make a pot of tea."

"I'm fine, thank you," he said softly, gazing down at his boyfriend. Mohinder didn't seem upset, but that did little to assauge Noah's worries. "You wanted to talk to me?"

"Ah, yes." He took Noah's hand and walked him to the living area, plopping down on the couch. Mohinder tucked his sock-covered feet up under himself and rested his arm on the back of the couch, facing his boyfriend. "I ran into Sandra at the mall, of all places. And things didn't go very well...so she called me up later and I invited her over." He was going to be very honest about everything.

He settled lightly on the couch, watching Mohinder all the while. "Things didn't go well?" he prompted. Not that he'd expected otherwise. His jaw tightened minutely.

"At the risk of overstepping my boundaries in what information you two share...she was with someone. Victoria Pratt. And I mean...
with her. Needless to say Victoria wasn't too fond of you, so she fought me on certain things. It was difficult for Sandra and I to talk civilly. That's why she called me later, and why she came over alone so we could try again."

Noah's eyebrows reached for his hairline. "Victoria Pratt?" he asked. The sheer unlikeliness of it all was mind-boggling. Then he frowned. "Needless to say? It's the first I've heard about it. We were passing acquaintances, merely."

"Ah. Then I like her even less than before. Though...there was....
one thing they mentioned that'd explain her distaste." His fingers came up and Mohinder tugged on his bottom lip nervously. How did he tell Noah that they said he nearly shot Sandra? That didn't sound like him at all, but if it
had happened...talk about awkward.

"Yes?" he said softly. His eyes bore into Mohinder's. He didn't like the sound of that. His expression was unreadable.

He swallowed softly. "They said that you...you pulled a weapon on Sandra and nearly shot her...?" Please oh please let there be a good explanation.

His expression hardened instantly. His eyes looked haunted. "Sylar came to me wearing her face," he said coldly. "What was I supposed to think?" He'd known that one instance of Sandra had been false. It hadn't occured to him that she could really be there. The memory of it still preyed on his dreams.

Relief played out on his features. "I knew it wasn't what they thought. I tried to tell them that it must have been a misunderstanding. But Sandra...she was pretty shaken by it. And Victoria didn't want to hear my supportive pleas. I'm sorry, Noah. But you do deserve to know why Sandra may be so distant."

"I'm fairly certain I know all the reasons she's distant, but thank you, Mohinder." He closed his eyes and leaned back against the couch. "Most of them came up when she left me." His careful mask was cracked somewhat, leaving him looking worn and tired.

"Right, sorry." He scratched at his curls and looked away, letting Noah have a moment.

After a while his eyes opened again, and he turned to look at Mohinder. "I'm sorry you were dragged into this," he said softly.

"It's alright. I quite like Sandra, actually. Would it creep you out if I saw her again?" He wanted a shopping buddy, damn it. Mohinder didn't have many friends.

He studied Mohinder quietly. The idea concerned him slightly, but there wasn't really anything he could say about it. He gave a brief nod.
