A little Sunday Night Excitement

Nov 08, 2004 01:58

It had been a long Sunday - I spent most of the day practicing horn, writing chord progressions and reading Aristotle. As per usual on Sunday nights, some friends and I headed out to Deering Field to play ultimate frisbee about midnight. At around 12:45 I looked into the sky and saw what appeared to be fast-moving bright white clouds. I asked everyone what it was, and as everyone looked up I exclaimed "It must be the northern lights!!"
It was indeed the northern lights. So we walked to Lake Michigan to watch the sights over the water. It was amazing folks. Let me tell you, the shimmering lights are amazing, sometime even colored (purple, green, red). I wish I could see it again. To be able to explain it better.
