Just to add before i went to the tutorial, extra work i had produced was.
The first interface i produced below i started to test in flash with some of the navigational features on the website. The played with a few effects for buttons. I did this so during my tutorial i could propose how the website would look and function with a less static approach. Also if successful i could import later into my piece

Ok so feedback from work was really good in progression. As of before i had proposed the rooms were going to be the pop up part of the application with the journal being kept as part of the initial application. My tutors suggested that i change that format around, having the journal as a floating application around the room, which would be a static part of the application. I can see this being a much better option and i cant believe i didnt think about it before. So i have re-design the initial mock up to fit the sizes i want to use. This means that il have to stick woth a fixed size for my locations but i think thats a useful guideline to stick to in the sense of design. Also means i will have to work on a new menu system but i don't think this is a problem.
I will post a link to my inital flash mock up also so its viewable here on my next update.
I other new ideas, the whole concept behind users visiting locations has always been on my mind. The idea was that the suggested locations would be listed as part of the storyline so you knew where to visit and so on. Well my problem with this was that users could visit any location they liked and in that example skip half the story line if they wanted. Well the new concept for doing it suits a few options that i have. The idea was to separate the places by squares in a format. very much similar to that of the world map used in Zelda The Wind Waker game which was released by Nintendo on the Nintendo Gamecube console.
With this option you would generally choose the location from a set square, rather than an actual named place, this gives the player more sense to explore. Also say an example of a 8x8 squares, that would be 64 locations for the user to explore, some important, some not important but yet art pieces them. If i get them aethetically pleasing then it should compliment the rest of the project. I'll work on some mock ups of this.
