even more randumb

i don't think i've ever witnessed as much "crazy" in one place as i did this morning while waiting for the bus.

when i arrived at the bus stop, a man who looked like a beach bum burnout version of taylor negron with long hair and bermuda shorts was standing next to me. he was quiet for a few minutes, and then he started shouting, "cassandra peterson.. elvira.. get her the fuck out of there!"

these days one has to expect to see some sort of bluetooth device attached to the ear of somebody seemingly having a conversation with themself, but not this time. he continued to mutter to himself about something elvira was doing that was messing something up and wandered away.

my focus then turned to another man who was also waiting for the bus. he began yelling at every passing bus, despite that fact that none of them were actually supposed to stop at our particular bus stop. after a few buses passed, i believe that he said their not stopping was "illegal" and then continued on a tangential rant that somehow included something about barack obama getting assasinated by white supremacists. he eventually became too impatient to wait for the bus and stormed off on foot.

as he was walking away, he nearly collided with a haggard man wearing a tie-dyed shirt and riding a bmx bicycle. the angry man must have had a few choice words for the man on the bicycle, as the two men then proceeded to get into a shouting match. the first response was from the bicycle man, in which he told the other man that he can do what he wants. from there their responses quickly devolved into a string of expletives and both men telling each other to go back to the respective country from which their race originated.

honestly, i wish i just had those few minutes recorded on video, as watching it would be much more entertaining than reading my words.

postscript: i almost forgot the last part of the story. when the bus finally arrived, it was standing room only. after i entered and the bus continued its journey, i slowly made my way toward the back. the bus that i take is twice the length of a regular city bus. but despite its large size, if somebody with a wheelchair needs to ride, three to five seats have to be flipped up to make room and three to five people who were previously sitting must be displaced. this is perfectly understandable and acceptable under normal circumstances, as the bus most certainly needs to be accessible to everybody.

when i got on the bus, a man in a wheelchair was reclining and taking up the space that five people could have sat in. all around him, people were forced to stand elbow to elbow. before you think i'm an asshole, just wait. now i noticed this and was one of the people standing, but i had no reason to think ill of this man. however, after a few stops, i actually watched this same man (who had previously been reclining in a wheelchair) as he stood up, walked his own wheelchair off of the bus, and continued walking down the sidewalk outside.
