i love coach moore!abegail_anneDecember 2 2004, 00:43:46 UTC
he was so funny! i loved how he called people "fat heads"! there were lots of jerks in my p.e. class and they always had to do wall jumps-- i reveled in their pain... muwhahaha!
oh! one time during the dreaded "mile", this girl in my class started feeling faint so she stopped by the parking deck around the corner to sit down. some of my class mates and i ran around to the gym to tell coach moore. he let us ride with him in his van around the corner to pick her up. it was great-- coach moore stuck his head out the window and made siren noises like we were an ambulance! that man was so crazy!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I loved him too! I would always get to school early because my mom had to work and we'd sit and chat while everyone else came in.
I remember one time when the 7th graders started pissing him off during the warm-up exercises and he made them do 150 SQUAT THRUSTS and when someone would mess up, he made them do them all over again. Those things were tough.
I miss him. He was so awesome. Coach Davis was cool sometimes but he mostly kissed Coach Moore's ass.

THAT was the other coach's name!! I couldn't remember what it was. Gosh, I just got a mental image of her too. Agh. She was creepy. She liked to yell a lot. I think she was the 9th graders' coach. I think it was Coach Moore for the 7th graders, Coach Davis for the 8th graders, and Coach Alexander for the 9th graders. Either way, I didn't like her. I wonder if the three of them are still there. I only work a couple of block away from the school. I may have to walk over there one day and see for myself.

well, my sister went to baldwin...that was four years ago though. coach moore was still there then.. i saw him once when i went pick her up from school. he was very gray. but still wore those awful wind suit pants. i think coach davis and mrs. alexander moved on.
yes, she LOVED to yell. and she scared the crap out of anyone who may have been thinking about becoming sexually active during Health class by showing us graphic pictures of the skin disfiguration that could be the result of stds.... eeeewww.
Re: i love coach moore!abegail_anneDecember 2 2004, 01:35:13 UTC
edit: haha... sounds like i was saying anyone who wanted to become sexually active DURING health class... ahh.. you know what i meant. sheesh. it's late.
Re: i love coach moore!horizonseekerDecember 2 2004, 01:36:56 UTC
Hahaha...oh my gosh, I remember the sex ed thing. Killed my desire to have sex for a while and I'm still a little emotionally scarred from that...lol.
Gosh, I don't think Coach Moore will ever stop wearing those windbreaker pants and he probably still wear those polo looking shirts and wears his whistle...lol.
Another Baldwin memory...did you ever walk over to the Scott St. Grocery thing after school? I did every once in a while but couldn't very often because my mom was already there to pick me up when we got out.

yeah, i did go over there when i had to stay after school for drama rehearsal. i usually rode the bus home though and mine was one of the first to leave.
i *do* remember getting in trouble for trying to cross the street to go over there. the police officer who directed after school traffic (mr. livingston?) would yell at you if he caught you and not let you cross back over to the school.
so i remember we would go down by the library and then wait until he wasn't looking and run across to cut through the empty lot across the street. and then we'd have to be all ninja-like to get back across!
man, i loved baldwin. i'm so glad that i went there instead of brewbaker.

Hahaha....yeah, I remember how everyone ran across that empty parking lot across the street. I miss Baldwin too. I wish I'd gone there in 7th grade too instead of the stupid Catholic school I went to. 8th and 9th grade were a blast there. HAHA...that reminds me...did you do the BLAST program? Oh my gosh. With Karen Williams? She was the kinda...okay, not kinda...fat computer teacher who taught the classes on the IBMs. I had her class in the basement, which was right by the cafeteria, and I had her before lunch. Well, she would always sneak out of the class for 10 minutes every day and we all joked that she went to taste test the food. All of her examples were related to food and she had a mini-fridge in the class. She always talked about her love for turtle cheesecake
