Shovel - 2

SO. I went out to feed the poultry and found this odd little scene, if you will, by the front of the shed.

A shovel. Laying forlornly on the ground. Around it, many, many white feathers.

I used my Super Powers to expostulate what had happened here.

My first hypothesis was that the shovel, envying the birds, had gathered up the molted goose feathers and attempted flight by fashioning wings, however, in the heat of the day, the wax it used to fasten the feathers to a framework of dried sunflower stalks had melted, leaving it to fall into the mess.

My second hypothesis, formed after looking at Ben, who is inexplicably missing more feathers, was that Tedd left the damn shovel out, leaned to the shed, and Ben attacked it and lost. Ben's back is also filthy, as if he rolled somehow in a puddle of oil. Being as geese can't really roll on land and there aren't any puddles of oil in our drive, I must assume that in fleeing the shovel as it fell on him, he managed to squish himself under the front of the car.

Yup. Need to put the shovels away, as they exhibit evil even when not held in someone's hands.

Also, need to do grocery shopping before it goes from hot to OMFGWTFBBQ??!

ben, goose, gander
