when i was in sweden this summer visiting my best friend, fan fiction came up when we were talking about outlander - i mentioned that i found it hypocritical of the creator that she doesn't like fan fiction of her works since her work is basically fan fiction. holly took the side of outlander's creator, while i argued that fan fiction is good and healthy (i mean of course). i asked her, "have you ever been in a fandom like that? reading and writing?" and she admitted to it, but made sure i knew it was "back in high school," that she wasn't anymore, and that she found it distasteful.

for how big into the cure and robert smith she was then ..... i think this was her fandom. it's also possible she was into BtVS, but i doubt she was referencing that since that wouldn't be RPF.

Interesting! If that was her fandom, I'd be very curious to know her pseud. From what I can decipher from the Wayback Machine, there really weren't that many people writing, so I've probably read her stuff! Shame that she found it distasteful, whichever fandom she was in.
