Name: Eizo HORIGUCHI

Age: Same as everyone else >_>

Birthday: July 30th (Leo)

Grade Average: C

History: Conceived on a snooker table nine months prior to his birth, Eizo Horiguchi was a rather average child living an average life within an average family. At least, that was the appearence.

The truth was, the Horiguchi family always has been heavily involved with the black market. The family were often selling drugs, imported alcohol, DVDs, films, and the occasional car to people who so needed them.

The family are therefore extremely distrusting of the police and legal authorities. That said, they have some level of influence in the local community (or its underground at least).

Eizo himself doesn't get involved in the "family business", though.

He never has, short of making a drop off somewhere, or helping to "even things out" if some idiot's tried to be clever with them. They would much rather he stayed in school and kept up the pretence until he is at least a little older. It's mostly something run by his brother, parents, uncle and cousin. Either way, a hard-nosed family brought up hard-nosed ideals, and as a result Eizo has adapted a single-minded mentality.

About twelve months ago, a huge deal got ugly and after SRS BSNS went down (dunno what, yet), Eizo's father was sent to prison. Although the whole family were investigated, Genta Horiguchi had managed to stall the system just long enough for the Horiguchi clan to clear out their illicit goods before getting investigated. Although there was nothing prosecutable in the house, social services were still called in, and after a review, Eizo and his sister got taken away from the custody of their mother, and were given to their nearest blood relative: their paternal uncle. As it happens, he's just as bad as daddy, so business is same as usual, save the fact they now live in cramped conditions with their extended family, who aren't best happy with the situation, and show varying levels of hostility to the lodgers.

As a student, Eizo's family reputation is an open secret; many people are aware of it, but they don't discuss it. (He doesn't discuss it either, because duhh, it's kinda illicit...) Same time, they also know that he isn't actually part of the muscle personally. However, it's a bad idea to mess with the Horiguchis in general. He doesn't invite hostility indisriminately, but it sort of just falls into place that way; he's quite loyal to his friends and ice cold to his enemies. He likes the feeling of being protecting people, as it's a small and acceptable power rush.

Somewhere along the line this feeling of protection has come up and given him a conceited streak. He looks down on many people. He doesn't care for riches and stuff like that. He knows that if he wanted to make their lives hell, he could do so in a heartbeat. Despite this, he feels some conflict about falling into the family way, so is just getting on with school, trying to cut out his own path in life. Yet, he knows that even if that route doesn't work out for him, he always has the fallback option, though his dad's imprisonment had a bigger impact on him than he would like to admit.

Appearance: Eizo stands at about 5'6" in height, and he is of relatively slim build. He generally gives off a vibe of tenacity more than he does one of imposition. His eyes are brown and intrusive, with his brown hair hanging lazily over his head. He does comb it in the morning, but it doesn't stay that way, and the fuck if he's constantly preening.
Although he is thinner than average, due to his activity in sports teams, he is more toned than he is ropey or stringy. He uses tennis as a way of getting rid of frustration, with the other sports as more to his general wellbeing. As he lives with a family of smokers, he likes keeping himself healthy, and tries to eat well, too.
Additionally, he has a tattoo on his inner left forearm, one which his brother and father "persuaded" him to get for his fourteenth birthday.
As far as general appearence goes, he's actually pretty handsome, if it weren't for the permascowl he seems to wear on his face.

Personality:
With a lot of people, he operates a very simple mantra: 'My way or the highway.' He isn't tolerant with other people, least of all those who are different to him. Socially, he is very judgmental, and rules out a lot of people automatically without getting to know them. If he is made to then know these people, it usually increases his dislike of them. He is extremely conservative-minded when it comes to political issues such as ethnicity (get back to your own country and quit clogging our country), homosexuality (unless there's due exeptive reason, gas the lot of them), and disability (why are you wasting our time pretending you're normal?)
It's not to the point of zealous fascism, but it's plenty fine to get him on the wrong side of his more liberal-minded peers. He knows what he likes and he like what he knows! :O
If you don't fall into any such categories, he'll actually be a very loyal friend. He won't act BFF with anyone any more than he'll take girls on candlelit strolls on the beach with a ukelele, but he'll take a side and stay with it. As he often sees things in black/white, he can be lousy conversation if it's a topic he either doesn't know much about or has no interest in. But he's a guy. He likes guy things.

Strengths: [Physically fit]. He likes sports and so has a strong ability to work thems legs when he needs to.
[Determined]. Ryuzo hates losing at things. If he wants to win at something, he'll go for it with his all. Oddly, he finds stalemates more enraging than outright loss. Which doesn't help the whole feud thing.
[Streetwise]. He may not be part of the family trade, but he knows how to take care of himself. It hadn't been uncommon for the parents to vanish on a job for several days, leaving him to sort himself out. This must be an advantage in the Program.

Weaknesses: [Distant]. Yeah, it may be beneficial that he's not too emotionally tied up with his class. He's more likely to find an enemy than a friend, however; which can work against him all too easily.
[Bad loser]. Honest to god, if things are looking bad for him, and he knows that defeat is inevitable, he'll almost always become petty and spiteful. If he can claim even the smallest victory from sucking the glory out of the win, he'll probably do it.
[Risk-taker]. He was raised in a risky environment. What more can I say, than it's rubbed off on him?

Overnight Bag: Nothing of particular importance.

Family

MOTHER: Yoshimi Horiguchi (51) -- Now a little plump from middle-age, she bears the hallmarks of a matriarch of an underground family. A chain smoker and drinker, she is surprisingly talented with numbers and with contacting people. Essentially one of the more respectable faces of the family, but that doesn't mean much, cos she can and will fight her own corner.

FATHER: Genta Horiguchi (58) -- INCARCERATED.

UNCLE: Teruki Horiguchi (52) -- Was actually the other runner of the family business. A divorcé, he doesn't care much for his nephews and niece, barely caring for his own kids. Likes his alcohol, but is very savvy to keeping one step ahead of the law.

BROTHER: Arayoshi Horiguchi (23) -- Was into weight-training as a youth, and when he inevitably fell into the family trade, he started going to the gym even more regularly. Now he's essentially the hired muscle of the family, though is sometimes helped by his brother and cousin, the latter of whom lives with him in a grubby flat.

SISTER: Mitsumi Horiguchi (13) -- She looks like an elfin version of Eizo, and has a sweet baby-face. But don't let this fool you. She's smart and quick-thinking, and will go miles out of her way to do someone a favour. And yeah, she will scout for people to trade with as well. It's almost like she has her own side-business on the go, but shh

COUSIN: Tatsuji Horiguchi (20) -- Grown up rejected by Eizo's uncle, Tatsuji left school at the first chance with low expectations and started to get into drugs. Wound up working for the family trade, and lives with Arayoshi.

COUSIN II: Fujiko Horiguchi (15) -- In a different class at Eizo's school. Somehow seems to have missed the Horiguchi gene entirely, and likes ponies, purple and reading.

Extra-Curricular Activities: ....oh, go on then. Tennis. And let's also say he does track and soccer. I guess this makes him a bit of a jock. That was unexpected. X_x

Classroom Behaviour: Eizo is a middling-to-mediocre sudent. He doesn't care to draw too much attention to himself, but can survive the work. It does seem his pride is his biggest obstacle here: he would rather struggle and fight through problems with work than ask for help. In total, both of these factors cancel each other out, and he just floats somewhere in the middle.
His general conduct with some of his classmates leaves something to be desired, but in order to get by, he ignores many of them. Outside of class, he's a lot more hostile, which brings into question his home life.

Classroom Clique: Any that doesn't include Souji's buddies, or the gays, or the Liberals, or the cripples. Or foreigners. Eizo can be quite a nice guy, I promise....

Any Memorable Moments: TBA, but so far..
SOUJI OKADA - So much hate OMG. D:< Lots more to come on this, potentially...
TATTOO - He was "talked into" getting a tattoo by his family at age fourteen. It is the Horiguchi family name in ornate gothic inks, as a reminder of who he should always side with. One kid made fun of him for having it when he got back to school one day. Said kid wound up meeting his brother and getting his own initial scarred onto his chest with a bottle for the disrespect. Lovely.

Picture: As per PB and Appearence. PB is Junpei Mizobata.

Friends and Enemies:
Ongoing, but.... honestly guys. Eizo needs friends. Or at the least, people's he's cool with. There's a lot of people who he won't touch, but so long as you don't fall foul of his marks, he's pretty much an okay guy.
