TAI Acoustic

This was the first opening band. They were a local band from Madison named....
ummm.... I have no idea what their name was, sorry. But the lead singer looked like a young Jon Stewart.

This is Evan Taubenfeld. I had no idea who he was other than he was Avril Lavigne's lead guitarist for three years and now he's coming out with his first solo project. His music was OK (Emily liked it more than I did) but he was really funny and highly entertaining. Two thumbs up for keeping me totally interested and laughing in a good way throughout his set.

More Evan.

Evan.

Evan again.

Oh hello there, William from The Academy Is...
How I love you so.

William.

William with Sisky in the background. TAI (well, two of the three members, anyway) has been doing these acoustic shows for a couple months, and Sisky accompanies on some of the songs, playing bass and harmonica. I was disappointed that we only got him on harmonica for one song at our show.

Sisky, are you letting your 'fro grow again?

After the show we met Evan. He looked a lot older in person than he did on stage.
(Emily gets her braces off this Monday.)

So there I was chatting with Evan, when my professional photographer (Emily) decided to take a picture mid-sentence when neither of us were prepared.
I ended up with the best worst picture ever. We both look awesomely stupid.

He told us while performing that if we bought one of his shirts, he'd give us a kiss on the cheek.
Is it wrong that I get excited about kinda cute young guys kissing me in pictures?
Even if they don't really mean it?

And that was it. Emily opted not to wait around to see if William or Sisky came out. This show was really mellow and laid back and nobody was pushing or shoving or moshing (that would have been really freaking weird at an acoustic show) and we actually had to stand on our own power for three hours rather than being pinned to the stage by the crowd.

Our legs, backs, and feet were exhausted. That standing on your own thing is overrated.

So we went back to our ghetto motel where we avoided getting shot but I got to listen to the people in the next room have sex after Emily fell asleep.
Good times. Good times.

emily, i have a life, aweshum, happy, celebrity encounters, music, peek-a-tures, concerts, hot guys, tai
