Mother, May I?
It's May, and it's Mother's Day this week.
It has been nice to see my mother grow, learn, and become a person in her own right since she's been widowed. No longer an appendage or accessory, she's herself, making her own decisions, doing what she wants, focusing her energy and attention on the things she deems important. We'll never have much in common, and we'll probably never agree on much, but she is more likeable since she's found some happiness in herself.
