OOOOOH boys and meg.... it is a VERY good time to be a gamer. see, my computer may be on its last thrust, but with some duct tape and love i'd like to share with you the list of games i can't wait to be playing...
Ghost recon 3: Advanced Warfighter > a return to the origional formula on PC makes this one the top of my current list. those of us who remember the white knuckle action of the first game know what i'm talking about.
Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers > just got the demo on this one. i reall loved the first one, but it felt limited. this one gets rid of most of that, and its so hard, it makes the first game look like an Air Force training mission. (no offense dan)
Warhammer: Mark Of Chaos > more of a throw back to the old school Myth series, this sword and magic RTS looks to put the stratgedy back in the genra. all but tossing out resources, Mark of Chaos pits 4 HUUUGE armies against each other with the focus being on troop movement and terrain usage. battles will easily consist of thousands of indivuadal units fightng and reacting to their surroundings.
Bioshock > Quite simply the game i have been waiting for since like 98. a "spiritual prequel" to the absulutly OUTSTANDING System Shock 2. most of the origional dev crew is back. and the distrobution rights have been bought by take two interactive, so it should hit my hard drive early 2007. take a close look at the concept art compared to an actual inengine screen shot. if anybody can do a game like this, its irrational. system shock 2 scared the living shit out of me, i have no doubt bioshock will do the same...
Call Of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the Earth > a pc FPS survival horror based on the Cthulhu mythos. 'nuff said...
that's all the upcomming stuff i can think of for now. of course, theres legacy stuff i havent got to play yet, like warhammer 40,000: DAWN OF WAR (which just went collectors edition for a mere $30), and Lock On: Modern Air Combat Gold (a paltry $20 right now, but my flight stick isnt working). And all this is not to mention games i own but haven't had a chance to finish (or even play) like half-life 2, splinter cell3, thief 3 (which i cant play till i finish 2, but 2 doent like my vidcard :*-< ) and Brothers in arms: Road to hill 30.
origionaly, this was an INSANLY long post that happend when i restored an ancient LJ autosave. only it was like 4 screens on my 1600x1200 monitor. i decided to spare you. basically, what happened was, it re posted everything over and over and over, even randomly blending sentences. it was amusing, but only if you really really looked. and it wasn't worth it...
also, i''m obsessed with the Dropkick Murphys right now. one might be forced to compare them to Flogging molly, but thats just not fair. i mean, Dropkick may be irish, but they're still only from boston....
