I missed a week due to being on vacation, you would think I would have more time but really I just have more to distract me. The week before vacation was all work anyway. Lots of Long days, I was never below 10 hrs.
This is good since we went through quite a bit of money while on vacation. The cost of the hotel and tickets to the park were severly discounted and were paid in advance. This was conditional on our attending a sales pitch for a vacation timeshare thing. It took much longer than we anticipated but for all that we got I can't complain.
We started the fun last Sunday, wandered around a bit and went on a couple of rides, visited the Harry Potter area. They did a really good job with that but have no penny smashing machines. I consider this a major downfalling as it is one of my favorite souvenirs to collect. This time I got enough I just about documented my trip via pennies.
My birthday went well. We had to sit through the time share sales pitch but it was interesting and entertaining as much as that sort of thing is possible. We went to Benihana for lunch, Hibachi is always fun but this time their was a little boy that made it all the more entertaining. He kept shouting no fire and running away. The chef never produced any fire but did say Fooom a number of times to give the kid a hard time. We spent a good amount of time at the park, enjoyed quite a few rides and then went to watch the blue man group. It was hilarious, I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while, it was also very strange but what do you expect from a bunch of guys dressed in blue paint who don't talk. It was good times.
We went to the park Tuesday and Wednesday with Portia and Mackenzie in tow. It was quite a bit harder with a toddler but everybody was well behaved and we had a great time. We did managed to wear everybody out pretty good. Peyton and I had a pretty full day on Thursday in spite of the park closing early, we hit everything we really wanted to and did quite a bit else too. We also saw a couple of movies, Thor and X-men first class. Both are good, x men I have difficulty reconciling with the other x men movies. We mostly went to it because we are a couple of immature adults that aren't going to be able to go to anymore midnight showings for a while so we took advantage of the opportunity.
The last couple of days was spent visiting family and doing a bit of shopping. We had a bunch of fun and it was good to see folk again. The only complication was that I am needed on a job in South Dakota. I spent a few hours working out the details but I get to leave directly from Florida. This means Peyton and Portia get a few extra days with family including a trip to the beach. Exciting times. Hopefully all goes well.
