cpw has been a lot of fun, despite some sadness and some panicking.
I got up at 7:30am on thursday to go work the EC welcome lounge, and upon entering Talbot Lounge I encountered a large group of people who I would never expect to be up that early as well as a strong odor of alcohol. It was the responsible hackers celebrating the appearance of CalTech's cannon on the dot outside the Green Building. see http://howeandser.com/. Fucking Amazing. I went from sleepy to wide awake and excited thanks to those guys.

Anyway, I collected my prefrosh, and went to class. Haven't really seen her much since. She seems kinda fake-y, and definitely not one to like fifth east. I posed for http://www.collegecannoncoeds.com. I talked to my mom and found out that my cat at home, Lightening (macro-Nietzsche) had stopped eating and was at the vet with a high fever, high blood sugar, and on IV antibiotics and fluids, for a suspected UTI. And wasn't really responding to anything. My poor kitty...

Friday afternoon I went to the alcohol sub-committee meeting of SLOPE. not so interesting. Nothing was accomplished. Meh. Afterwards I got BBQ food from EC. Then I went to tEp for sushi with Rachel and Greg and Christina. I ended up hangning out there for awhile with Tim and Buro while the lightshow was being fixed but I had to leave before it was up and running. I also had to leave before USB glowy toys were being assembled. Shucks. I dashed back to EC to get dressed for tours and headed down to Talbot. Tours went okay despite some drizzling, and Sky came in last because we had Sub9/Hell last. ah well. Afterwards I crashed hardcore.

Got up at 11am to find a voicemail from my mom on my phone. Lightening hadn't been responding to the antibiotics; in fact his fever had gone up. The vet thought that it might be FIV/Feline Leukemia and had asked if Lightening had been in contact with any other cats. My mom was calling to ask whether Nietzsche had been tested. Of course he had been negative as a kitten, and doesn't go outside 5e. But at this point, either Nietzsche had given it to Lightening, or Lightening had gotten it randomly from some time he'd ran out the door of my house, and then Nietzsche probably would have gotten it over Winter Break when he went home with me. I panicked. Crying, sobbing, hyperventalating. Honestly, I don't know what I would do if Nietzsche had that. He means more to me than pretty much anything, and I couldn't bear having him sick. Well, nothing really to do until Lightening actually gets tested.

Anyway, I pulled myself together and cheered myself up by going around EC yelling at people through the bullhorn-whatsit-called. Then I went shopping for Miss Ugly accesories. A bunch of fifth easters and 1 prefrosh and 1 Pevner ended up being the contestants, with Brian being the most disgusting and winning. After that I went and took a nap. When I woke up I had a voicemail from my mom. Lightening was NEGATIVE for FIV/Leukemia. OH GOD THANK YOU. *ELATION* Unfortunately, this means Lightening is still very ill and without an explanation. I went down to Meatmarket, which was amusing but.. meh. I decided to head out to tEp just as Woody was leaving, and he offered me a ride there on his !!!!motorcycle!!!!! but I had no helmet and I couldn't find the ones EC had used earlier in the day. damnit! No motorcycle ride for me. So I saferided there, and had some fun. I talked to David at length, which was interesting, and good. Unfortunately I lost my awesome necklace. Now I am home. I'm tired. I think I'll sleep now.
