Lunch, shopping & the movies

Today was family day. Went to Tampines to do some shopping with my mom and brother. Initially, we planned to only have lunch before catching a movie, but it turns out that we decided to watch a different film in the end, and the timing of the film gave us around half an hour's grace to walk around the mall.

I was the only person who bought clothing & apparel today. I think I spent a lot, though. Got myself a pair of Chuck Taylor shoes, and a cap for casual use. I don't really fancy my Nike cap to begin with, and I feel that it'd be better to use that cap for outdoor activities instead of as a fashion statement.

Anyway, I really like my new pair of shoes. They're basically plaided Converses. The colours of the plaids aren't what I'll call eye-catching or vibrant. In fact, they're simply shades of black. But it looks really good! I'll try to put up a picture to give you a rough idea of what it actually looks like, once I find a suitable one. ;)

The movie I caught this afternoon was "The Karate Kid". It wasn't very good, in my opinion. Don't really get the brouhaha over the film, and I'm not very sure of how it climbed its way to the top of the box office this week, either. The storyline was pretty flat, and the progression of every scene will become predictable once the viewer understands the brief overview of the plot. There wasn't much development in the characters of the story and it seems as if every major scene is just trying to fulfil the task of showing the viewer what happened, not how it happened. HAHAH, good luck making sense out of this review. I'm not very sure of what I'm raving about myself. But it wasn't the best film. You should think twice before buying the movie ticket, I'm quite sure there's better films that are also currently showing.

The homework due after the holidays are pretty much done, except for the Biology SPA assignment and the Physics worksheet. Will get to that later. For now, I think I'm just gonna complete my tuition homework and then enjoy a film I just downloaded. Hope it'll be good.
