DownloadI had a great New Year's Day. :D
Basically, I went out with my family to spend some quality time (I haven't been doing so for pretty long already). We went to Ngee Ann City because my brother wanted to buy some Lego stuff. I went down to Kinokuniya and browsed the graphic design books there. They're very inspiring - the colours, elements, typography... and just the aesthetics of the artworks on a whole. Truly professional and influential graphic designers are very hard to come across these days.
I walked from Ngee Ann City to ION Orchard after that, where I met my mom at the train station. I think that Orchard Rd has started to go through a nice revamp, but the crowds obviously didn't show any signs of dispersing. We then went down to the basement of the mall and there were tons of food stalls that sold Hokkaido-inspired foods like soft ice cream, etc. In all honesty, nothing is as good as the real thing, so I really started to genuinely miss Hokkaido's awesome food when I looked through what was sold. I want to eat ishikari-nabe again. :(
I went home after that, prepared and then went to meet the cell group at Aaron's house. Ailin delivered pizza for our dinner, and it was great to sit in a circle to chat over drinks and Italian food. LOL. Though I'm not a very great fan of cheese, I guess it didn't really matter (I was willing to eat anything since I was having a splitting stomachache).
The thanksgiving rolled in after all the formalities. :) Ailin prepared gifts for everyone and presented them to us like we were prize-winners with her speech on her thoughts and praises for each member. I got a scroll with "Melodious Voice" written on it, and a blue Christmas decoration as an added bonus. The gifts were nothing but random, actually. XD Some of them are even stage props, I think. Anyway, I was really touched when we exchanged our thanks and all, especially when I heard of what others thanked about me. The cell group's presence simply made the whole meeting worthwhile - I never noticed how united our cell group was until now, and I pray our relationships will continue to improve. :D
Something funny happened after the meeting. When we left Aaron's house and walked to the bus stop, we noticed that we were going to miss the bus to Bedok Interchange. When we did manage to catch it, I realised that there was nothing in my pocket, and it dawned on me that I didn't bring my wallet along. -_- As the rest were in a hurry to get up the bus, I had no time to borrow the bus fare from them. I remained at the bus stop as a result, and the rest were exchanging shocked looks from the window when the doors closed. :X I ringed up my dad and he fetched me home in the end. Conclusion: It was really stupid of me to forget my wallet. >_>
There's tuition tomorrow and I haven't completed the homework. :(
