Saturday Pictures: The Final Installment

Ah, ducks. Y'all know about my great affection for the Highland Park duck pond. This is the roll of film I wrote about in this post, when I took a box of crackers and an entire roll of film with me to visit the ducks.

* B'Nai Israel actually doesn't exist anymore. About five years ago -- probably longer, actually*** -- they closed for business, merged with another Synagogue that was closing, and formed Adat Shalom out in the suburbs. But my maternal Great and Great Great Grandparents were among the founders of B'Nai Israel, so it always holds a place in my heart. The end of the story is that the building is now used for the Urban League Charter School of Pittsburgh, which is good because it means the building still serves a noble purpose, and (hopefully) won't fall into disrepair like so many of the other former Synagogues in that neighborhood.
** OK, I realize they're really hard to see. I never even realized there *were* little fish in the pond until they started jumping out of the water and eating the cracker crumbs.

***ETA:
OK, a lot longer than five years ago -- this site says 1993, although I'm pretty sure I was living in Pittsburgh when they closed, so that would've had to've been post-1996 ...
