• Serah is fighting with a sword
• Paradigm Shift System and Chain Bar are available just like in the previous installment
• Members of Team NORA, Lebreau, Gadot, Maqui and Yuji can be seen
• A new female character and a Moogle are seen
• Noel seems to need to solve puzzles (scene with the red fields)
• A new male character with blond hair can be seen protecting Serah
• Snow (who in FF XIII proposed to Serah) is nowhere to be seen

The adventure will take place several years after the first delivery. Lightning mysteriously disappeared and is considered dead by many. Serah decides to leave in search for her sister.

She will be assisted by a mysterious character named Noel, who gives her a hand throughout the game.
