Day 1 - Stockholm, Sweden

Jul 08, 2010 17:02

Sweden is beautiful. Everything is old and so nice. Stockholm is actually a city built on 14 islands. The name supposedly reflects this along with the fact that there used to be a barrier that only the Swedish knew how to go around to get into the city. There's a little history for ya courtesy of my Swedish friend Malin! And the food here that I've had so far is really good. Tomorrow morning we have a walking tour around the city bright and early...great way to adjust to the time change! I won't complain though, I'd rather see everything than sleep through it all. I took a few pics on my phone, but I will be taking my camera along with me so I can upload pics. Gotta have pics to go with the story!

What I learned about Sweden today:
-people think you're weird if you're friendly
-most everyone rides a bike
-see through shirts are the new thing

Hopefully I'll add to this list fairly quickly. We also met a man fishing who was actually very friendly. He showed us everything he caught and made small talk with us in limited English. I liked the swan in the water and he said, "ahhh yes nice swan" haha. I'm sure that swan was indeed very nice.

Check back in for more updates!
Tack (it's thank you in Swedish ha)
