I have NEVER been more disgusted with the Canadian government in my entire life. NEVER.
Not in the scandal, not going Conservative. At least there was some logic.
It has taken them AT LEAST six years to debate and reject and contemplate and BLATANTLY AVOID passing animal cruelty laws that still fall short of anything remotely humane. Our "laws", if they can be even called that, were originally written in 1892. 114 years ago, how ridiculous is that??
Do animals feel pain and suffer? Yes. Does the Criminal Code recognize this? No.
And the worst part is, it seems like it's going to stay that way for quite a while.
