Gundam Drabbles

(I hate it.)

They still have Duty.  Defined by rules and inputs that aren’t allowed to contradict, designed to give the most logical output, he should still be salvageable even if he’s been tainted.

They still have Sanity (and his twin).  Defined by conflicting inputs, designed to balance conflicting outputs, he understands both sides, and he’s been doing much better lately.

They still have Belief.  Defined by sacrifice, designed by both sides of the battle, he’s long been broken down to his components, making one more scar unimportant.

(Compassion was defined for other times and designed for other roles, anyway.)

It’s (Not) All Right

He should have gone back.

For the computer that was more than a friend (so he wouldn’t hear his name echoing over and over even when it’s out of range).

For the Meisters, to show one failure was all right, to share his vengeance with another, to ensure the last (all) kept remembering that saving people wasn’t a crime.

For her, so she wouldn’t see his Gundam coming back and hope (after he promised her, promised Haro).

For all of them, he should have.

For an Irish boy who died before he met any of them, he has to stay.
