Did anyone else see in the news that Marvel Entertainment killed off Captain America? Of course, now I'm wondering if he'll mysteriously resurrect like Superman did after the whole thing with Doomsday ( Read more... )

Honestly, in fandom, I usually don't like fics where the story doesn't end happily or where the two characters being shipped don't end up together. That's probably the reason that I don't like superheros getting killed off.

yep, but in comics, all superheroes can be revived as well, so its not like its severe.
that's the beauty of imaginery things: TPTB can set in stone as canon whatever they want, as fans , you always can change the outcome.

wasn't superman dead at one point as well??

Yes, that is the beauty of comics. And while I'm not all that familiar with Superman comics, I think he did died fighting Doomsday at one point.

have you ever read the German Author "Michael Ende" ? enderwiggin24 March 11 2007, 18:19:30 UTC
he wrote the novel "The Neverending Story" which has been filmed.

and one of the most important message that I felt as a kid , when reading it, was , that he said: every true story is infinite.

it doesn't matter whether the story is told by whatever medium, comic, tv show, book, videogame... they are tales, and tales are immortal and infinite to me.

people can stop their tales, and put the "End" at the end, but for now, nobody can control the minds and fantasy of the readers.

No, I've never read anything by that author. That's interesting, though, and pretty much what fandom is built on. I mean, we see something on the show, and then we expand on that. The story never just ends there.

you should give the movie a try, if you have the chance enderwiggin24 March 11 2007, 18:31:36 UTC
its a wonderful one (and much like with Highlander, don't ever watch the sequels, it will only be disappointing)
