Hidden Figures
FINALLY got to see Hidden Figures yesterday--I knew it was going to be a good movie, and I was not disappointed! Realistic depiction of segregation and prejudice, with enough comedy bits and uplifting moments to make it much more enjoyable to watch than the usual history biopic. Loved all the characters (well, except for Stafford, who was pretty much created for us to hate).
One thing did surprise me--the theater was about half full, even now--an older, mostly white crowd. And they were cheering and gasping at different points in the movie ... really getting into it! I can't remember the last time I actually heard a movie audience cheer while watching something. It was pretty awesome. :)
Anywho, definitely worth watching, and I seriously hope it picks up an Oscar or twelve!
