Schedule of this week

Dec 03, 2010 17:03

Dear Readers:

This is a long one.

Monday = Cold and Sunny

Started normal, ended with a hydrogen leak at 2:45ish that ended the day early (normal day 3:30pm). When the order to evacuate was given, The engineer that was with me and myself, looked at the 10minute test we where doing and ask, "Can you wait 30 seconds?" When the test was done 30 seconds later, hit stop, screen save, pasted into Excel and left.

Tuesday = Cloudy and Rainy

7:00am- Started normal with the finishing of the testing I was doing Monday. After testing, I started cleaning the sensors. My boss came over and had me follow him the his boss's office. I was thinking that this was the meeting that going to become a full-time permanent employee.

Alas, no. At 9:00am I was terminated with pay until 12:00noon (Note: remember this). After saying my goodbyes to mostly everyone, I headed to College (ITT-Tech) to inform them of what happened.

9:50ish- Christian (Chris) Buyce of the Career Center at ITT-Tech of Albany, consoled me with flat pretzels and humus. She also dug up the resume I have on file, added Plug-Power and sent it out to prospective employers. One that Chris responded to was a job by Core-Pay that is in Cohoes (on the west-side of Harmony Mills, I live on the east-side. I could ride the bike to work in the summer time.)

11:50- Got a call from Core-Pay Staffing, for a job interview (Note: see above, I am still on the clock). I go to their office and have an interview.

2:00pm- Done with interview, it went well. They interviewed me for Eone (in Schenectady), but I was there earlier this year and unintentionally bombed that interview, so I was not expecting much. They also will be looking into the one that Chris originally sent to them. They will get back to me on Wednesday.

3:00ish- Return to ITT to update them, then went home.

Wednesday = Monsoon

4:00ish- Woke-up without alarm clock, forced myself back to sleep.

9:00ish- Swam to ITT, to check on Core-Pay and internet job hunting since I don't have a internet connection at home. The Eone job fell threw (no surprise) and was looking into the other job. Onto the job search.

10:00ish- Mr. Robert Blogett (the CET [Computer and Electronic Technology] College Program Chair) asked me what am I am doing at 2:00pm. My reply is that I have a very open schedule right now, and he asked me to participate in the audience of the CET Capstone for this quarter. I said, okay, since it was better then swimming back home to pace or depressing hours of looking for work.

2:00ish- With the Capstone presentation running late, I received another call from SixNet about another interview. I made appointment for 1:00pm Thursday, because I wanted to clean-up a bit (shave, haircut,...) and that my car does not float. Chris, which was sad with the news of Eone is now bouncing with glee. After the Capstone presentation was finished, was on the computer some more then swam back home.

Thursday = Clearing to Sunny

4:00ish- Woke-up without alarm clock, forced myself back to sleep.(yes I am still biologically on Day-light Savings Time)

7:00ish- Cleaned-up (shaved, showered,...), paced until 9:45ish.

10:05am- Got to Tony's Barber Shop on 3rd Ave. in South Troy for haircut (I thought he opened at 10am but he opens at 9am).

11:00ish- Went to ITT to use internet until interview. Got asked many times, "How the interview go?" Answer, "Didn't go yet, it is at 1:00pm." I also got many compliments on how I cleaned-up. I thank JCI (Junior Chamber International) on honing that ability.

12:15ish- Headed for Sixnet.

12:40- Got to Sixnet. Since I was early and it is a secured building, I waited in the foyer. Confirmed plans via text for a free dinner courteously from my sister.

12:45- Talked to the Human Resource Manager, then the Lead Technician and Test Engineering Manager. I was surprised that a former co-worker and current college-mate is working there. I was suppose to re-meet with the Human Resource Manager, but she was at a meeting.

2:45ish- Returned to ITT to update them and to kill time until picking up my sister for a trip to the main post office and dinner.

4:45- Got to my sister's work place, pick her up, and headed to the post office (BAD IDEA! lots of traffic at 5:00pm!)

5:10pm- Call from the SixNet Human Resource Manager with the question. My sister's excitement is barely contained in the passenger seat as the job offer was given to me. I start Monday. Sis now explodes of fits of glee as soon as the call ended. The dinner was first going to be a condolence dinner, then a 'good luck' dinner and is now a 'congratulations' dinner.

5:40ish- Finally, get to post office. Pickup her package.

6:00ish- Dinner at OutBack. I had the Lamb dinner.

7:30ish- Dropped sister off at her house, then headed for RPI for dance practice to hang out with the SCA group and tell them what happened.

9:15ish- Went with the Denny's after dance group to socialize with them since I will not be able to do this or the above next quarter due to a Thursday night class.

Friday = Cool and Dry

2:00(AM)ish- Left for home. Yes, way past my bed time.

8:00ish?- Sun in the eyes woke me up (interesting there is a spot that isn't covered by the window COVERINGS!). I slowly moved though my morning routine.

10:30ish- Went to ITT to update. Saw Chris, "Have you heard anything?" She hopefully asked. "Not today.", was my mischievous and truthful response. She was sad, until I told her about the night before. He he, (^_^) Chris broadcasted to everyone that was at ITT-Tech today (small group due to being in between quarters) knows that I am back to being employed.

Now- Slowly, finishing this post. 2010 for me looks like a very year (not the best, but very good)
