I've never had the pleasure of watching Cold Mountain, but I am familiar with the score, and Idumea was a powerful song to tie to a fic like this. It's heart wrenching, which adds a whole lot of painful context to Sam and Dean's story here. It's a tough road, but someone's gotta travel it.

Great work. The emotion here is the real achievement.

Thank you! I've always identified most strongly with Sam c. S1-2, so getting to spend some more time in his head was fun (in an angsty sort of way). I'm glad to hear that everything worked for you.

So good. I don't have words, but I loved this. I adore the inherent angst of the brothers' relationship, and I've never seen a fic do it better. I love this Sam, this Dean, and these OCs. And the writing quality. Wow. Go you. Thanks for sharing.
