Sharpen Your Overacting Skills

I feel guilty for never updating. It's like every time I go to put something in here, I get sidetracked. But there is so much to say, so I'll organize this puppy.

The Starting Line concert: Oh my goodness. It was absolutely amazing. The first opening band - In Dire Need - was playing only their second show ever. And their first was in some basement. They were pretty good, but too much screaming for my taste. And since we were right by the speakers, my eardrums weren’t too pleased either. The second band, Days Away, was pretty awesome. As Kenny said, they play “Baby making music,”. HOT keyboard player. The singer was really odd. He looked like he had to pee or something. Strange. And then The Starting Line came on. HOLY HELL. Words cannot describe how amazing it was. We were RIGHT in front of Matt and he kept singing to us throughout the entire show. I got some really good pictures. They played five new songs, which were very good. The new CD should be awesome.

And then after the show, we were all standing in the merch line. I looked over my shoulder and there was Matt, just standing there. Total mind blow. So, before I know it, I’m saying his name louder than I thought and he’s like “Huh?” We all go over to him and he was the NICEST person ever. So sincere and gracious. He was saying how the band was so nervous because they were playing all these new songs and how the hadn’t been on tour in almost nine months. So, we are all kind of standing around, chatting with Matt. But then more people came, so we said thanks again and went back to the merch line. Like two seconds later, Tom just pops out of nowhere and plops himself on the merch table right next to Lauren. We were so confused. But people came over, so we left him be and thought he would be put for awhile. But when we looked back to find him, he had disappeared. Oh well.

Meanwhile, we are still in line and Ash is like “Pssst, Jamie. Kenny’s over there.” And I’m like “Where, I don’t see Kenny,” too loudly. My ears were all messed up from the speakers and I didn’t know how loud I was talking. So, I finally spotted him and the two of us head over and stand in line to meet him. Then Lauren and LeeAnn came over. So, it is the four of us and we have this sign for him to hold that said “I Love Jess” since Jess couldn’t be there because of band and she loves him. So, he held the sign and I took a picture and then he signed the sign and the rest of our stuff. He was so sweet. When we told him about Jess, he was like “Awww, that sucks,” And he kept thanking us for being there and for saying how awesome the show was. He has that whole longish brown hair going on, but it’s honestly not that bad.
Overall, it was such a kick ass night. We meet Matt and Kenny, got Kenny to hold the sign - which Jess found hilarious, by the way.

My 21st birthday: My birthday proved to me that I am very lucky to have so many people love and care about me. Seriously, thank you EVERYONE. I had an absolutely amazing day. Ash, Lauren, and LeeAnn surprised me when I got back with cupcakes and had the apartment all decorated. Goodness, I can’t believe I’m 21. That’s like ancient. And then last Saturday, my official first time legally drinking, was good times. YAY(!) for Sunrises and “Wait. Do it.”

Exercising my 21 year old rights: That occurred both last Friday and Saturday, and it was glorious. You have no idea how exciting it is to walk into a liquor store or distributor LEGALLY and purchase something LEGALLY. I’m finally in control.

Junior’s win at Talladega: Holy hell, what a race. Those last five laps he went from eleventh to first. Total craziness. Too bad his win was overshadowed because of one little word. People always seem to focus on other stuff besides Junior’s talent and it pisses me off. I don’t know what it will take for people to see exactly how much of a talent for driving he has.

The new Good Charlotte CD: I’m actually listening to it right now. I’ve been switching TSL and The Chronicles Of Life And Death for like a week. I love this CD. I honestly didn’t know what to expect from it, but I am amazed. Which really isn’t a surprise, I guess. I’m always amazed by new GC stuff. So far, my favorite tracks are S.O.S., The Truth, We Believe, and Wounded. But each song is superb. The lyrics just grab you. Joel, God bless, must have gone through some shit with whoever broke his heart like that. She needs to be kicked - hard. I love how this CD is nothing like TYATH. They didn’t stay with the mold they created, which you have you have respect for.

Fall break: Starts tomorrow! Thank goodness. I think we all need a break. Sarah and I are going to Ash’s for the weekend. And Mel is coming down Saturday. I haven’t seen her since APRIL! That is insane. And then Monday, we’re going to the King of Prussia Mall, a.k.a. Jamie’s Mecca. It shall be fine times had by all.

Alrighty, this thing has taken me forever to do and now it’s time to head to bed. Nighty night all.
