I certainly am aware that it has been almost two months since I last posted, and even that, that post was nothing of real consequence. My life has been changing rapidly right before my eyes and some of it is really not postable.

Ryan graduated from Flagler on April 21st and we came down to South Florida on April 22nd. His parents came down and helped move him into the house. Prior to that, I was painting walls, helping Chris finish tiling, clean floors, put crap away, and sooo much more. But anyway, Ryan got all moved in and started his job on April 24th.

On April 26th I had Portfolio Night for my class. I spent days and days preparing for it and it was a great success. Parents and their students come in the evening to our classroom that is all set up for mini student-led conferences. Parents of about 10 students showed up and took the time to look through their child's portfolio to see the growth they had made this year. It was as successful as it could be for the children I teach in the area. It makes me sad that more parents aren't involved in their child's success in school- but that's the world we live in nowadays.

Everything was pretty calm for the month of May. BTW- Ryan is working for the husband of the art teacher at my school. He has a VERY TINY accounting firm in Miramar and Ryan started as the Junior Staff Accountant. Within a month he was the Senior Staff Accountant and got a raise. (There's only Harold- Partner, Ryan- Sen. Staff Acct., a paraprofessional, and a secretary. :)

School ended on May 31st. My partner in crime at school Ana and I put together a very successful promotion ceremony for our classes. Our theme was "Everything Grows." We taught the students how to sign the song Everything Grows and so they sang it and signed it. We put together these flower pots with a poem on them- the center of the paper flower had a picture of the student from the beginning of the year on one side and the end of the year on the other. We made up certificates and gave them out to all of the students too.

The parents had a great time and the kids had a lot of fun as well.

I went back to work at Pet Supermarket that following Monday- much to my disappointment- nothing had really changed. After spending a school year getting home in the late afternoon and having Saturdays and Sundays off- I really do not enjoy working at Pet Supermarket anymore. I don't like working all the night shifts now that Ryan is here with me, and there's just waaaaay too much drama at the store than I care to involve myself in or think about. Only a few more weeks there though and then it's back to school for me, so I'm just going to stick it out and do my best.

Ryan and I went on vacation at the end of June and we definitely had a blast. We flew to Baltimore, Maryland on a Friday and rented a car there. We spent the evening and night with his aunt and uncle. I got to meet his cousins and one of his cousin's kids, including our ring bearer for our wedding.

On Saturday we drove to Hanover, Pennsylvania and I met Marsh and Nikky- finally. We had lunch with them at the Famous Hot Weiner Shop (The dirty one apparently....) I've heard so much about them though, that I felt like i already knew them. They are getting married next June and they just bought a house. We went to see their new house and then went to the state park where they were having a Summer Blast party. After that, Ryan and I went and checked in to our hotel (HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS- The best hotel EVER!) We had a King Size bed and a spacious room (Handicapped room). We went to dinner at this really neat place called Damon's Grill. They have these huge screens and you can get these little controllers and play trivia against other people in the restaurant. Apparently these types of things are all over the place, but it was the first time I'd seen them and it was awesome. After dinner, we went back to the state park and watched a fireworks show. After that, we went to this bar and hung out with some of his friends from Hanover.

On Sunday we went and visited his aunt and uncle and spent a lot of time with them. We went shopping at the Utz factory and bought some potato chips. Later that night we had dinner with Marsh and Nikky and then just hung out for a while.

On Monday we went to Hershey Park and spent the day there. We went on the Chocolate World tour and had an absolute blast in the park.

On Tuesday, we drove down to Baltimore and walked around the inner harbor, near the Chesapeake Bay. Then! We went to an Oriole game. They played the New York Yankees and it was the most awesome baseball game I've ever seen! We had Club seats so we got to go up this escalator to this air conditioned inside area where they had tables and inside restaurant things.... we went outside to where the field was and someone wiped our chairs down before we could even sit in them. THEN! We had this little menu thing and if we wanted food, we just held up the menu and someone would take our order and bring us our food! :) The Orioles beat the Yankees--- The score was tied and the Orioles were up to bat. The bases were loaded and an awesome player was up to bat. He had two balls and a strike. The pitcher threw the ball and it hit the batter and rolled up his shoulder. The umpire said it hit his bat, not his shoulder. (Orioles fans went crazy!) The pitcher pitched again until there was a full count (For those of you who are unfamiliar with baseball- that's three balls and two strikes) and the last pitch was a BALL! He went to first base, which WALKED the guy home from third base and the Orioles won!!!!!

On Wednesday, we ate lunch again at the Famous Hot Weiner and then headed to my grandmother's house. She made steaks on the grill and we visited two sets of my aunts and uncles.

On Thursday, we drove to my mom's parents' house and had lunch with them and my aunt kelly and two of my cousins (finally getting a chance to meet my flower girl!) We hung out with my grandparents for the rest of the afternoon, had dinner with them, and then headed back to my other grandmother's house.

On Friday, we had breakfast, and then drove to Merrill Creek and saw the tree that had been planted and the bench that had been set up in memory of my grandfather. I took a bunch of pictures of it and we walked around Merrill Creek for a while. After that we just went driving around and stopped at my uncle Michael and aunt Christine's house. We went back to the house and just relaxed for a while and got some ice cream at Jimmy's. I wanted to see some deer so my grandmother took us on some back roads. I saw a Doe standing near the road eating some grass so my grandmother stopped and I got out to take some pictures. I was doing fine and kept getting closer and closer to her. The dear would stop every once in a while and look at me, then go back to eating. Well, apparently, I got a little too close and she started stomping her foot at me, so I took off back to the car! ;) In total, I saw 30 dear that night- hitting my limit! :)

On Saturday, we drove to Ryan's Aunt Pam's house and spent the night with them.

On Sunday, we ended our trip ever so sadly, and headed back to reality...

Currently, I'm doing a whole lot of nothing- just working at Pet Supermarket, willing the summer to be over as fast as possible so I can go back to teaching. I'm going to be starting to kick into high gear for wedding planning- I'd like to have booked a DJ, Photographer, and videographer, and pick out my florals by the end of the summer. We'll see how that goes!

I think that's all for now, and I pity you if you just read that entire entry!

Love to all!
