one down, three to go

Last night was amazing. Were we really that great? No, but we weren't half bad. The feeling was exhilarating though. I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be. It's nice not really being able to see anyone. I just kept telling myself it was no different than a rehearsal, and I didn't even feel that nervous. I did make a few mistakes, but I doubt any random person knew. It'll be even better tonight, and by next Saturday I will be able to play without music I bet.

I feel this show mean so much more to me than everyone else. For most people its just "Another Op'nin', Anther Show." (Sorry, I couldn't resist) For me, this is my big break if you will. It's really awkward to see my name in the program next to drumset. There are people involved or watching who know me as the drummer. Not as a trombonist who tries to be a drummer. I do doubt that anything will change, but I hope I get respected as the percussionist I am, and if nothing else I feel better about myself.

After a long week, this upcoming one should kick ass! Sleeping in is awesome, and my afternoon classes will all be bullshit. Yeas!
