21 NOVEMBER! YAY! Another year has passed for me!

Happy belated birthday to me! ^_^

It was yesterday. It was the least birthday-like birthday ever, especially since I earned myself barely a "D" or whatever your letter for the grade right above the F is. (In our country it's a "Mediocre 3" but I doubt that anyone who reads this will have the same educational system.) The D-part in Geometry, one of my specializing subjects in school, sucked big time and soured up my happiness right in the middle of the day, curse them. But I got better afterwards. *wipes a theatrical tear* I have such awesome friends to cheer me up so nicely in these moments.

We have a tradition in the school hostel of going over at the birthday person's room at 00:00 on the date of their birthday and well-wishing, splashing with water for luck (a superstition, dunno if you have it) and gift-giving and just some general B-day mayhem.

My gift didn't come then though. And, since I didn't feel at the time like a birthday girl at all, I didn't mind at all. Late or not, it doesn't really matter--the important thing was to have more of my friends gathered together if even for a little while. :D

But they DID give me my gift. Actually, it was more like GIFTS, quite many of them too. They're just such dears...

I'm thinking of making pictures of them next time and posting them for better idea but here's what was in the bags:

A sheep-like Cusion, which is very, very soft and cuddly and cute and just plain adorable!
A Pein/Konan T-shirt (BANZAI to that!)
A Pein/Konan framed and coloured picture of said characters' first arrival (HELL YES!)
A diary-like book with Chinese letters and Sakura blossoms in the background (it's very nice :D I'll feel like I'm writing some deeply emotional and wisdom-filled haiku when I finally figure out what I'm going to use this for :D); it had a very touching dedication on the front. (I get the feeling I don't deserve such awesome friends like I have)
Two pairs of nicely made Chinese chop-sticks with Dragons on them(HELL YES to the Dragon power! I'm a dragon fan, in case that wasn't apparent enough xD)
Terry Pratchett's "The Last Continent" in English (Very nice! Gotta love TP's creations and honing further my English skills)
A Naruto Calendar for 2008 (BANZAI to the fandom!)
A very pretty flower that I have no clue how is called but it looks very nice and smells even better (when my nose isn't too stuffy to actually sense it)
And finally, but definitely not least important of all, a Birthday well-wishing card that is the first ever in my entire life to nearly bring me to tears. It was THAT awesome.

Seriously, I feel like this is the best birthday I've ever had, even though it's the one that felt least birthday-like, with no cake and such. But, frankly, when you're surrounded by such truly incredible friends, I don't think that anything material can even compare.

It was a very nice seventeenth birthday to me. ^^

ssdd, moe~
