Trunks appears tall and a bit slender about 5'6", still he has that muscular structure. He has light blue eyes and lavender hair cut just in the middle of his ears. He wears a black sleeveless shirt, gray pants, and yellow boots with a blue Capsule Corporation jacket over him.
As a Hybrid (A cross between a Saiyan and Human breed), Trunks hair will grow and apparently doesn't need any gel as regular Saiyans has with their bad-ass hair which pretty much makes him look like a normal human. He doesn't feed on combat instinct or the urge to have a battle. Best part is, he is Saiyan tail free! Least in canon, it never showed if he ever grew one.
Now the fun part, becoming Super Saiyan. When Trunks undergoes a transformation willing or rage, his power literally sky rockets than his average strength. His light blue eyes will shift to a yellow-greenish color and his hair bleached blond. Due to the amount of energy spitting from his aura, his hair will lift up giving it a spike look.
Personality:
As Trunks grew up in the future, he has became serious, worried, and protective. This was shown during his time with Gohan and after Gohan's death. Trunks has always admired Gohan during the time he spent with him. Gohan displayed hope and courage. Inspired by Gohan's goal to fight, Trunks followed too and became Gohan's student. Just like any young kids, they have looked up to their older siblings. That's how Gohan was to Trunks, an older brother he never had. Both are the last Saiyan race [half], have mothers to watch out for, and lost their fathers to the same people. They both synthesis their feelings for one another. Trunks learned to be patient, a little, later after Gohan's death. He learned more after his mistake; he challenged the androids and failed.
Being from the future, Trunks is already aware of the timeline and such taking place. Because of this, he is very cautious and planning. Trunks tries to plan, calculate, and tires to be more weary of his actions and others; especially knowing what the future may become. There are times when he rarely uses rational thinking to enemies that will become a threat. This was shown when Trunks and the group infiltrated the lab and used a blast energy. Though with Goku around, he is shown more confident. The story continues, Trucks begins to become more confident and less cautious. He still never loses his rational thinking; he also learns from his mistakes and willing to admit it; opposite from his father.
Other than that, he is shown polite and well mannered being with his mother. Living with his mother he knows best it's not wise to offend them, not in a fearful way. Trunks takes complements bashfully, especially from females. The only female he has hung out with was his and Gohan's mom, lucky him.

The reason is because of two androids; Androids 17 and 18. The androids are the result of the demolish buildings and the majority of cities fleeing. These two artificial beings don't carry any emotions or feelings from what Trunks have seen. They are monsters how Trunks would described them. They would kill anyone with no questioned asked. They even find the planet as if it was a game, their own playground. Trunks had to live in fear over the years thanks to the androids. The Androids have already targeted the DBZ fighters, killed them all. Now the only ones left were Gohan and Trunks to fight. Trunks was thirteen at the time of the fighter's death. Still a teen, Trunks wasn't good at planning the most. He would sometimes fly to were the androids are and challenge them. His mother lived during that time watching her only boy running off, or flying. Stubborn child too. Lucky for him Gohan was there too.
Rage, anger, sorrow, and more develops within him. Trunks wanted to stop them! How can he beat them even if his father couldn't. Looking up to Gohan as his mentor, Trunks asked him to train him, to become a Super Saiyan. Trunks true goal was to destroy the androids and hope for a better future. A couple months passed after training with Gohan. Though he hasn't reached the full potential to become a Super Saiyan, Trunks still wanted to help Gohan. Gohan purposely knocked Trunks unconscious thus he wouldn't suffer the same fate as him. Later, when Trunks woke up, he approached the ruined city making a gruesome discovery, to find Gohan dead. This was no simple bottle shaking waiting for the cap to pop off. It was more like someone left the bottle on top of the stove while it was on. Trunks's rage and sorrow grew to the point where he roared. The only person he was close to was gone, gone for good. Rage and despair, Trunks's finally achieved his level, Super Saiyan.
Okay a couple years have passed and now the boy is about 17 years old. Trunks has been training alone for the day he would beat the androids for the pain they have caused for him, and for the people. Here Trunks have learned some patience knowing he had to train and hearing his mother all the time. Well, his definition of patient is, okay he can go Super Saiyan now time to smash! Here his mother stated another option to return to the past before this has happened; deliver the medicine for Son Goku and warn them of the androids. Least during that time, Trunks may learn the weaknesses of the androids thus finding a way to finally destroy them. Trunks and Bulma were aware their future wouldn't change if something is done, but to change 'their' future they still have time to do. 'Their' is stating Goku and the others.

Trunks tempted to blast them with his Buster Cannon in the lab where they were found to destroy them, of course the result failed, but he did destroy the lab.
Later after battling with the androids once, Trunks followed his father to where he is hoping to get guidance from him, after all he is his true father and this felt the perfect time to become stronger. Goku arrives later along with Gohan to bring hope to both Vegeta and Trunks of a way to train. Accepting the offer, Trunks enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with his father where he would stay one day in but a year would pass inside. Except... he steps into another world.
Special Abilities or Weapons:
Martial arts is the key to his life and canon. Trunks has trained with Son Gohan when he was young for period of time; even before that secretly from his mother. Son Gohan was another Saiyan Hybrid and the only one alive to teach him martial arts and becoming a Super Saiyan. When Son Gohan died, Trunks had to train himself once again. He has done this for more than three years with one solid goal in mind, kill the Androids.
Trunks strength relies from the amount of ki [energy] he has trained to harness and control. Using his ki not only his strength grows but it also enhance his speed, agility, and stamina un-humanly. Not only it enhances his strength but it also unlocks abilities he creates. One ability he masters is called Bukujustsu, a flying ability. Using his ki, he lifts himself to the air levitating himself. His flying ability enhances when his body is burning with ki which also increase his speed in the air again. Not only his ki can levitate him, but he can also unleash ki blasts from the palm of his hand. One of his signature move is the Burning Attack [Buster Cannon]. It is a powerful energy blast shot from both hands. It is done when holding both hands forward, while doing some strange arm moves, then put both hands forward again, index fingers and thumbs touching. Then he releases the blast. The Burning Attack later evolves to the Finishing Buster on the last episode in which he is back in his time period. Here he would punch the enemy in the air and appear just under them. Lifting both arms up, palms facing the person, fingers spread out, he releases a thick blast of beam up towards the person. The beam is wider than his body blasting up. Ouch. Although he has signature moves, Trunks can perform multiple ki blasts especially feeling in the influence of anger and rage.
In his strength his ki is important, and sometimes his rage and loss. Feeling the ultimate loss, the urge close to defeat a new power is awaken from the Saiyan blood within him, Super Saiyan. A Super Saiyan is like a second level to a Saiyan. The Saiyan is engulfed in gold by their ki alone spitting out. Their hair turns gold as the waves along with the ki flaming around and their eyes blue. Just like a second level, their power extends twice than before, double the ki here. By the power of Trunks rage, he has controlled this level.
Trunks also carries a regular sword with him. It's mostly used to directly stab the enemy applying force with it resulting one hell of a stab. He can wield it pretty well enough.

Besides the odd circumstances I'm impressed with the pokeballs I was informed about. They're work very similar to the capsules I have. I'm not very sure how it works but if these things can really contain any animal I like to know how they work. More importantly, how do you feed them? There has to be some kind of storage food in here it's just-

The surrounding grew darker as color gradually came to view. It felt as if he just doze off temporary floating into nothingness. As light grew around him, he found himself standing on a dirt road surrounded by gray colors. The boy stood with a blue jacket and pants. His short pink hair flows quietly with the breeze. His blue eyes scans seriously around, analyzing his situation. The area felt unfamiliar to him, both before and after. Reaching back, his finger lightly touch the hilt of his sword, possibly assuring the weapon remain with him. Knowing the weapon is within his grasp, the Saiyan's sighs his calm at ease. Fully aware and ready to strike, Trunks rests both arms against his side as he begins to walk the silent road.
Looking around again, Trunk's feet begins to move searching through the unfamiliar area. "This place...." he begins thinking out loud to himself. "...its, its as if I'm no longer home, my home. I should search for any refuges." With that said, Trunks begins to hasten his pace ready to leap to the air. He begins to increase the ki within him. With just the right amount, Trunks leaps to the air, energy flaring around him like an eternal flame, and begins to search. Still dead silent, it felt as if he flew for hours with only a couple short minutes passing the time. The Abyss of emptiness, it felt familiar to him. No other sound or sense, as if he was back in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber once again. Timid, his cautious grew, constantly scanning left to right.
Trunks movement pauses in the air shaken little at most. At that moment, he felt at lost. "Just..." he begins again recollecting his thoughts as he grasps his hand. "--what, what is this place?
