Granted this is my first time encountering them... They were always just midnight camp stories.
It's just not the same. Even when everyone I knew died, they were sent to an afterlife least that I was told. And aren't dead people are suppose to have halos over their heads?
Maybe, this world has something similar to that and the scientists fucked it up. Maybe that's why they're transparent, or transported here. I don't know, I'm just theorizing. But hey, it does kinda make sense.
