Ah Spring
Spring is here and I am appropriately busy! First off I got accepted to the Lawrence Memorial/Regis College nursing program, yay! It's a part time evening RN program that should take me 2 years to complete and from there I'll go on to masters in nursing which should take another 2 years. People always seem aghast that this is going to take me "soooo long" but to do the whole thing (become an NP) it would take me 3 years full time, so I'm just adding one extra year or so which allows me to work full time and hopefully starting spring semester, when i qualify, have the government pay for most of it. It's a slightly non traditional approach but I think it works for me. I start in May though holy crap! I planned my wedding in August because I didn't think I was going to start until September! Oh well, I can't look a gift horse in the mouth and my clinicals don't start until mid September and that's the real time since, Friday night and 8 hour Saturday and Sunday shifts every other week. It's going to be *tiring*, but worth it.
And AB is 4 days away, holy crap! I still have a lot of stuff to do, the ball stuff I'm okay with, my free form "galaxy" floor decorations are pretty but i think they're a little too free form, they look just kinda like pretty alien things, which in the end works too. I bought a rotozip which is basically a portable jigsaw and a dremel tool, so I"m much better outfitted this year, I wasn't happy with the theme work i did for either convention last year and I considered quitting all together, but with the right equipment and some extra help I'm really proud of what we've done this year, hopefully others will be too.
In the end I'm *really* looking forward to April/early may before classes start, I've got my bachelorette, my birthday and Tuan's birthday, and I'm going to hang out, drink alot of cocktails, eat frozen yogurt and play FF13 in an effort to enjoy my last dregs of freedom ... mmmmm....slackerdom.
