Good thing: Lost 10 lbs woot!
Bad thing: Bombed chem exam #2, got a 75, I haven’t gotten a grade that low since like freshman year. So I’m pretty bummed about that but the upside is while the individual exam’s aren’t curved the grading structure is so a 75 is about a B- in the class and overall I should still have about an 89/A- average. The individual exams aren’t worth that much but this stuff is of course going to be on the final and that does count for a lot so I’m worried about that. It’s all kind of course my fault, it’s a really hard section of the course and I knew that and I should have spent a lot more time studying and working on the problem set leading up to it but I’ve had a real motivation issue for the second half of the course. Because Harvard doesn’t give you a winter break (finals are in January) I’ve basically been in this class for 8 months straight, and I’m really overwhelmed with AB stuff I spent my “spring break” (just work no school for a week) relaxing instead of getting anything done, which in retrospect was a terrible idea. I wish I could take a few days off from work to just catch up with things but that’s been a real point of contention with my boss recently, apparently you’re not actually supposed to use all of the earned time they give you. Particularly half-days, they hate half days.
So I’m bummed and overwhelmed but that’s not entirely uncommon. As long as I keep an average in the high 80’s I’ll be okay for the class and I’ve only got a few weeks left.
Good thing: I got into my Anatomy and Physiology class for the summer, it took 90 mins which was ridiculous, but its all set, so that’s one less thing to stress about.
Good thing: My birthday is Friday. I really hope it goes well. I’ve rented out a small room at the Golden Temple for drinks and mingling. I’ve never tried this type of set-up before so we’ll see.
Good thing: As a very late xmas gift Tuan and I got each other ballroom shoes! Preeeeetty. And as an early b-day gift he got me a kitchen aid, he got a great deal on it only spent like $150 when it would normally cost about $400. Now I just need to find the time to use it…
