i ended up rejecting grey gardens and black orpheus FOR NOW. augh. this sale is going to kill me.

the ones i'm seriously considering are: 3 women, fear & loathing in las vegas, brd trilogy, george washington (if i can find it), seventh seal, salo, a woman is a woman, short cuts. i'll only get 3 or 4, i have quite the decision to make. i'll probably be standing in the dvd section of b&n for hours.

those are tough decisions there. i say you should definitely get the fassbinder as it's a box set and you'll never find it that cheap again.

i considered 3 women as well . . . i ended up ordering the scarlet empress, repulsion, black narcissus, and peeping tom. and i may buy a few more . . . not sure though. at least now i have something to do after work, pathetic as that sounds.

i'm thinking if they have them all, i'll go with 3 women, the fassbinder box set, george washington, and either salo or the seventh seal reissue (it's been described as definitive. DEFINITIVE! that's a word that gets me). $20 is how much i'd spend on a regular dvd, much less criterions i've been drooling over for years.

good calls on your dvds, peeping tom especially (it's showing at the film forum in september, want to go?). are you working while you're in dc? that's dedication.

i'd totally be up for seeing it at the film forum. actually i am excited about you moving here because i will have excuse to see all kinds of movies (i've gotten really bad and tend to only see big spectacle movies and comedies these days).

and b&n trip: DONE. brd trilogy, salo, a woman is a woman, & short cuts are all mine for $90, which made me wince a little but not once i thought about how much i was getting. i think in san diego or la i might try to get the seventh seal, 3 women, and/or f for fake if i have any money left.

i actually found brd trilogy at the store last night, along with m and the canterbury tales. sadly, no pandora's box. i guess we both did good. i am not allowed to buy any more movies ever though.
