am i the only person who doesn't understand the burlesque revival?
Click to viewi mean, it's all very pretty and nicely choreographed, etc. - but i don't get the big fuss. a naked woman is a naked woman. i don't want to get into an argument about artistry or technique here . . . i just am not personally any more enamored of this than i am of pole-dancing. i guess i am mostly tired of the argument that burlesque is LIKE TOTALLY BETTER THAN REGULAR STRIPPING BECAUSE OMG IT'S ALL RETRO AND IRONIC AND EMPOWERING! it's STILL STRIPPING.
