Whoa-oa-oa I, I--------- I'm still alive.

That was me singing Pearl Jam in the subject line, if you couldn't tell.

Work ended. Christmas happened. School started. I don't really have much to say about the last few months.

I have this really sinking feeling that I'm going to screw something up this term and not get to graduate. Not that that makes a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It just makes me nervous that my parents keep talking about my graduation. I would like to pass my exams first, thank you.

My classes this term are most curious. I don't think I like them. Programming Languages is at least kinda cool, when I am following what's going on. Slightly worried about the assignments, but I have excellent help in that department. Applied Cryptography is extremely frustrating; what with the grad student first-time prof who keeps running out of things to lecture on and dismissing us early. Still have yet to hear of any assignments in that course (!) but the midterm is not until March. So I'm basically ignoring that class for now. Any of you who took it before (I think a bunch of you did...): I am interested in knowing if the material is actually hard and/or cool.

My other classes are Genetics and Philosophy of Science. The former is sort or interesting - hopefully we'll actually get into some stuff that I didn't take in OAC Bio back in the day though. I think it's fun stuff, but I hate it when first year courses just rehash high school. ALthough maybe they don't do all of this in high school anymore, with the no-more-OAC stuff. Oh well. It's math-like (and I finally figured out how they want me to use Pascal's triangle in my probability questions. Silly science students who can't calculate probabilities the real way) so requires less studying on my part than a crazy bio course. The latter is trying my patience already. It's fun to talk about the stuff we've covered so far...but the way that discussions are so unstructured frustrates me. Maybe I would like it better if I participated. Perhaps I'll say something soon. Oh well. It's a nice thinking course, and hopefully we'll be able to write some. Can't forget how to write.

It's early and I'm at school already. That's what happens when you have a dentist appt at 8:30 am. Turns out I am getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth out in surgery on February 10th. So, be nice to me then. Make me soup. Write my midterms. Something.

Oh. John has Settlers now. Please play with me. No one will play Settlers with me and I really really want to play.
