HOPE
Christians hope in things unseen. Although there are many proofs to show that our hope has some credibility, my belief in Jesus Christ is not centered around tangible evidence ‘proving’ that he was who he claimed to be. Proof might’ve been what began the believing process, but faith is the glue that pieces it all together. My faith was given to me by God. Sometimes He will give me more; sometimes He will give me less. And this faith produces hope. For us, death is dead. We hope that one day, we will see our savior face-to-face; weeping, repenting (although there will be no need for it, laughing, and glorified in Joy and a feeling of completeness. Our hope is also that we may see the ones who have gone before us, who have passed away. The one’s we long to see again. Old friends, family, the one’s who have touched us. Eternity in love and Joy that we’ve never felt before.
The lost have hope in this world. To gain as much as they can before they die. Wealth, Power, Lust, Knowledge, Intimacy, Stability, Experiences. History shows us that none of this lasts. People chase after their self-appointed purposes, years of ups and downs, working in an office for 60 years, only to die, lying in a bed, left wondering if there’s anything more, some, hoping that they were ‘good enough’ to get to 'heaven', some hoping that there is no God so they will not be held accountable for all the wrong they've done. Where do their hopes lie? In that same bed. They hope in only what can be seen, only what will eventually pass away. The world gives them reasons why they should be happy. Seeking materials possessions. They were meant to live for so much more. There is more to finding out if Jesus Christ is real and alive that by just weighing the proofs.
